Holiday Rental Description

Holiday home
The Garden Apartment is a delightful holiday property in the form of a modern annexe that adjoins a stone-built cottage. Situated half a mile from Tintagel in the little village of Bossiney on a smallholding of poultry and piglets, The Garden Apartment benefits from stunning coastal views. The accommodation consists of a comfortably furnished large and sunny open plan living area including kitchen, dining area and sitting area which opens out onto a private, enclosed garden that is a real sun trap all day long. This charming apartment is made for escaping the stresses of life in this gorgeous West Country location.

Accomodation Details
All ground floor. One double bedroom. Bathroom with bath, shower over and basin. Separate WC. Open plan living area with kitchen, dining area and sitting area with woodburner.

Area
The area around Tintagel is dominated by the sea, rugged coastline, secluded coves and incredible scenery. The town is famous as the home of the legendary King Arthur's castle, and the castle ruins still overlook the cliff side outside the town. Several beaches, the closest being Trebarwith Strand, are within reach and great surfing is also on offer locally. The South West Coast Path travels through the town and navigates along the cliff tops in both directions through magnificent countryside, then winds down to the sea's edge. 2.5 miles along the path is the village of Boscastle with its charming old fashioned quay and good village pubs. Tintagel itself offers several pubs and restaurants and the Old Post Office, a National Trust property that is well worth a visit. The popular surfing centre of Bude is 15 miles distant, and Bodmin Moor, Padstow and the fascinating Eden Project are all an easy drive away.

Region
Cornwall's visitors are constantly tempted back to the beautiful coastline, tiny fishing villages, hidden coves and the world-class surfing. Whatever the reason, Cornwall has long cemented its place as one of Britain's premier holiday destinations.

Amenities
Electric central heating with woodburner in sitting area. Electric cooker, microwave, fridge, washing machine, Smart TV, DVD player, WiFi. Fuel, power and starter pack for woodburner inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Ample off road private parking. Small patio with garden furniture overlooking smallholding which now has a charcoal bbq. One well-behaved dog welcome. Sorry, no smoking. Shop and Post Office 0.5 miles, pub/restaurant 10 mins walk. Note: This property is not suitable for children (including infants). Note: Property has a check-in time of 4pm.

Wonderful place to stay for a short break. Welcoming and warm. Comfortable for winter afternoon and evening in. Log burner and comfy sofas. Our pup was relaxed and happy. Lots of local walks and short drives to visit places of interest. Highly recommend and will return!

Really lovely accommodation in a fab spot with great facilities.. Clean and welcoming. Good woodburner made it very cosy and a little Christmas tree was a nice touch as we were spending Christmas here. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and it was great for the dog too. We will be back.

Perfect for the weekend.. It was too small a property for longer. You had to walk through the bathroom to get to the bedroom which was not explained and the tv is too small considering how far away from the sofa it is. No hd channels either.

The cottage was lovely and had everything the two of us needed for our mini-break.. The cottage is set in a quiet and peaceful area, with only a short walk to Tintagel with its amenities and castle, or a short walk in the opposite direction to Bossiney Cove - a beautiful little beach area. There was a welcome pack that let you know everything you needed about the cottage, the local amenities and some ideas of where to explore nearby. All in all, a lovely place to stay and a good base from which to explore Cornwall.

As always The Garden Apartment was perfect for our needs.. It is unbelievably quiet at night and the brightness of the stars is amazing, not a lot of light pollution. So relaxing and scenery beautiful.

A lovely oldie worldy type of a place to stay.. Ideal for two people and a dog. Great location with everything you could need for a great holiday. Located close to all amenities, beach, pub, restaurant, supermarket and amazing walks along the coast. What more could you want.

July 2019
Lovely cottage which is even better than the photos.. Perfect size for two of us plus our dog, good facilities and wonderful view from the land to the sea beyond. Location is great, Tintagel is a 15 minute walk away with some good pubs and shops (Premier and Spar for essentials). Lots of attractions nearby, the cliff walks are stunning, and make sure you go down to Bossiney Cove (steep and rocky) and Trebarwith Strand (get there early!). Rocky Valley and St Nectans Waterfall are also well worth a visit and walking distance away. No real negatives, the net curtain at the kitchen didn't bother us. The outdoor area is overlooked by the adjoining cottage but they pulled their curtains. We may be back next year :)

The Garden Apartment was lovely, we have stayed in Sunny Cabin (on the same smallholding) twice before so we knew exactly where it was.. A couple of small negative points is that there is no blind in the kitchen/lounge, just a net curtain. We saw several people walk past this window, which is fine in daylight, but at night when the lights are on you really want more privacy. The bathroom was really dark, better lighting is needed. Just a couple of minor negatives, but if these were put right it would be perfect.

The apartment was very comfortable and the private garden outside was lovely, no need to keep an eye on the dog as it was fully enclosed.. Idealy situated for walking to Tintagel and the coast path to Boscastle. Would definitely book again.

December 2018
The bed in the apartment was quite uncomfortable and too small, my husband's feet hung off the edge and he's not very tall.. Also, there were no curtains/blinds for the kitchen or bathroom which was awkward showering at night. We had an electrical problem but the owners sorted it very quickly. We loved the apartment apart from that, it's in a great location, quiet and we loved the log burner. Good wifi too!

Great accommodation for two adults and our border collies Seb and Sidney to explore Tintagel and surrounding area.. This is our second stay in Bossiney and we would fully recommended staying at the Garden Apartment and any of the other properties that are associated with The Round House. Great coastal walking with stunning scenery! S great time had by all! Thank you Roxanne and Lorraine, it was a pleasure

September 2018
I believe the write-up failed my expectations.. It was minimal and didn't give a true picture. If the detail had been accurate, it would have met my expectations. The cottage was basic and tired looking, although very clean. The sofas and bed were quite hard and old. The towels were old although clean. There were no sharp knives which hindered catering and could have been put in the description so that I could have taken some to use. The shower's pressure was minimal. There were no curtains or blinds on the rear windows (only nets) and didn't feel private when people were walking up and down for many hours on the path behind. It would be impossible to have a private shower in the evening with no curtains and the light on. The internet went down half way through which meant that I vacated the cottage earlier than the checkout day because BT weren't going to find the fault for 2 days and I had online work commitments. Plus points - the cottage was quiet, there was ample parking, nearby beauty spot of Bossiney Cove, the host was polite.

There is a lovely garden outside this holiday flat and it's well located for those wishing to get onto the South West Coastal Path without getting back into their car. Oddly, we never saw or spoke to anyone involved in letting us the flat, which was a bit odd. Just a voicemail message explaining that the key would be in the door when we arrived and a request to leave the key in the door when we left. And while there was a lot of decor - pictures of ocean waves on the walls and knick-nacks typical of holiday lets - there were some basics missing. No extra blanket, just one duvet in the whole place. There were kitchen things like egg cups and a pizza slice, but there was nothing to make coffee in. We improvised using our own thermos and a big sieve. The layout of the flat is also a bit odd - clearly a flat awkwardly carved out of what was once a house. But the heating and hot water worked!

I was looking for somewhere totally peaceful where I could get on with some writing and this proved the perfect retreat. Very picturesque and tasteful. A short walk into the village provided all my needs. The wood burner made for cosy evenings even though it was mild for October. I slept brilliantly every night. So many beautiful coastal spots a short drive away and less than ten minutes to walk to the coastal path for fabulous views and broad Atlantic vistas. Highly recommended.

October 2012
The cottage was very clean and well equipped, with more than enough space for two people. It was a nice touch to see a bottle of wine left for us, although some tea bags and a drop of milk would have been more useful! The lounge allowed us to spread out (a sofa each!)and the patio outside was quite private. Being so close to Tintagel meant we could walk to the shops, and having a bus stop next to the cottage was handy for our one way coastal walk (although buses pretty infrequent so careful planning needed). The worst thing about the cottage was the lack of privacy when inside. Residents of the neighbouring cottage walked right past our kitchen window regularly, and the bathroom window was a patio door with no curtain, so we had to be careful when getting out of the bath, just in case someone had gone exploring next door! The best thing was a location right on top of the South West Coastal path. The views over the sea were lovely, and different each day

Wonderfully close to the coastal path. Convenient bus stop right outside the house to take a bus to Boscastle then walk back along the coast. Walking distance of Tintagel the other way. Took us a long time to find the DVD player (it was a sideways slot in the flat screen TV). We didn't see the owners and weren't sure which house they were in. Off road parking was helpful.

Nothing was too much trouble. The owners were very friendly. The accommodation was very clean, homely and quiet. We love Bossiney and spent our honeymoon in Ocean Cove Caravan Park. The beautiful coastline never ceases to amaze us. Would and have recommended this apartment to friends. We have tried other areas but always return at least once a year, very dog friendly.
