Area
The legends and myths of King Arthur and the Round Table are still potent in the town of Tintagel in North Cornwall – and the cliffs just beyond are dominated by the jagged ruins of King Arthur's Castle. Visitors will love the romance of this beautiful area, with its surfer seas, dramatic cliffs and hidden coves. The town itself is pretty and welcoming, with well-run pubs, restaurants and specialist shops. The South West Coast Path can be followed in both north and south directions, and northwards leads to the charming village of Boscastle after a couple of miles. Trebarwith Strand is one of a number of good beaches near Tintagel and 15 miles away is the popular surfing resort of Bude. Also within reach are such local attractions as the Camel Estuary, the Eden Project and Bodmin Moor, which has a unique atmosphere and one of Britain's spookiest pubs – the Jamaica Inn.

Cornwall's visitors are constantly tempted back to the beautiful coastline, tiny fishing villages, hidden coves and the world-class surfing. Whatever the reason, Cornwall has long cemented its place as one of Britain's premier holiday destinations.

The location was magical and relaxing and convenient for nearby walks and activities.. Robin was extremely kind and helpful and went out of his way to offer assistance when I lost a bag on the beach. I would recommend him as a superb host.

This quaint little cottage is set in a beautiful, peaceful location ideal for exploring both north and south Cornwall. The cottage is close to the other Halgabron cottages but it still feels private. Robin (the owner) gives you a warm welcome and is a mine of information on the local area. You can access the stunning St Nectan's Glen via a right of way through the garden and Tintagel is a very short drive away. The cottage had everything we needed but it may be worth noting for others that if you are looking for somewhere modern and super clean, this place may not be for you. Furthermore the fridge has no freezer compartment, no bath towels are supplied and the free WiFi has a very poor signal and we could not connect at all. Additionally the sofa bed is very stiff to pull back up and i was unable to do it single-handedly. Having said that, the bed is amazingly comfortable and the bedding was lovely and fresh. During our stay, the cottage was host to a great many spiders (not surprising given the time of year) and insects which did not bother me at all but I think it is important to mention as part of a review for those who have a real fear. I really enjoyed my stay in this delightful little cottage which despite its size, still felt open and airy thanks to there being lots of windows, the largest of which looks out to the patio and a pretty buddleia which was flowering when we were there and was covered in butterflies.Just lovely.

Millstream cottage was the absolute perfect little romantic hideaway for a short trip.. Nestled in the woods it is like something out of a fairy tale!! Great walks immediately near by and about a 30 minute walk into Tintagel (if you don't get distracted by the play park on the way home from the pub!). The cottage had everything we needed and acted well as a base for our other adventures as well having the lovely secluded patio to relax by the stream of an evening. Absolute bliss!

Halgabron Cottages are just the best idyllic and secluded spot for a quiet and just lovely break.. Set in wonderful grounds and easy access to walks along the Rocky Valley, St Nectan's Glen and down to the beach, we just had a simply wonderful break. The owner of the cottages is a lovely and accommodating person who was so welcoming and approachable. This was our honeymoon and we couldn't have picked a better spot for it. Superb all round!

The mill cottage was so unusual! It's in a lovely part of Cornwall within easy access of the sea and local amenities - only a mile from Tintagel. Very peaceful - just the sounds of the birds and the stream running by. Heavenly!

Looks amazing when you first see it. You have to duck to get through the door then the damp smell hits you its a cute little cottage but needs an make over desperately the fridge is so small no freezer not even an ice box and with the good supermarket and fair distance away it's inconvenient to say the least. The bathroom is so dated and grubby you have to force yourself to use it. That said the little outside space is lovely and private. The walk into town is dark no paths or street lighting on the first uphill part of the walk. But it is a good base to visit the surrounding area Boscastle is beautiful with great places to eat.

Cannot recommend enough; everything was very organised; lights & heating thoughtfully on in readiness for our evening arrival, gorgeous cosy cottage.. You know when booking that it's small, but everything is so well organised, there's no compromise; good storage, kitchen stocked with everything needed, easy to quickly heat to cosiness, & the sofa/bed is easy to assemble & properly comfortable. & 11/10 for location! Private patio & beautiful shared garden, both right on the stream and in n amazing location down the glen; owner there if needed but left us to it, all very peaceful, really felt it was "ours" for the week.

Really loved the peaceful location of this property and the stunning scenery.. The gardens were beautiful and it was a real place of peace and reflection. Loved sitting out one night listening to the stream going by and watching the bats, and a tawny owl coming down to land on the roof next to us before swooping down the stream out to sea was stunning.

This is the cutest little cottage for 2 people who like to get cosy. Set in idyllic woodland, it has a secluded sun-trap patio behind. From the delightful garden, you can walk through to a footpath which joins the main path to St Nectan's Glen. The owner was very welcoming and helpful. The whole area is stunning and, after a full day of coastal footpath walking, it was a privilege to return to a tranquil and beautiful setting.

On seeing the cottage for the first time it looked delightful. The owner, Roger, gave us a warm welcome and was most helpful. The cottage is small but has lots of charm, it is a shame that the weather wasn't kinder enabling us to sit in the lovely patio. The only down side was the shower wasn't very strong but that was no real problem. We walked through one of the gardens to St Nectan's Glen, the going was harder due to the rain but we came to a café and had a welcome cuppa. We then paid £7.00 to go down to the waterfall, we were the only ones there and it was a place of such peace and calm we thought the money was well spent. There is another long walk from the cottage through Rocky Valley, so glad we did it. The walk to the nearest restaurant is not one I would like to do in the evening, we felt that a car was needed. We had to come home early for personal reasons but we have many happy memories and photos of our holiday in the little cottage.

The cottage was situated in beautiful surroundings. The private drive leading to the Halgabron Mill cottages ensured peace and quiet. The woodland walk, accessed through the owners property to St. Nectan's Glen was lovely. A beautiful waterfall can be observed for free at Bossiney Cove, just a 10 minute walk from Millstream Cottage! Overall my wife and myself thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cottage and the picturesque coastal walks, so much so that we have already provisionally booked the same cottage for a week in early June next year.

We already filled in a reveiw and sent it by post. But here we go again. The service we received was very good. We loved the home and the location was beautiful. The fridge was too small and we would have liked more storagespace for shoes and wardrobe. The bed was sagging in the middle. We loved the small round little cottage and its situation. The service was good and we would recommend the cottage to our friends.

A brilliant place to stay. The enclosed setting is superb. I am Disabled and found everything close at hand and user friendly. The only negative point is the Fridge, or lack of freezer space. The out buildings have a washing machine and T/Dryer and there is more than enough room for a small chst freezer. That would be excellent and would not have to worry about buying fresh meat etc., Storage would not be a problem as there is only Mill stream Cottage and two other houses. I can't see a problem with putting ones food in a bag/box with ones name on it. Apart from that then the cottage is wonderful. A pure haven of peacefullness and tranquility. We love it. Local amenities are good.
