Area Tintagel, where the remnants of the fabled King Arthur's Castle tower over the seaside village, is a popular with tourists but not overrun by them. Sea, rocky coves, and breath-taking scenery make up the majority of the area's surroundings. Those who enjoy the water can go surfing at any of the neighbouring beaches, including Trebarwith Strand and Bossiney Cove. The Old Post Office (National Trust) in Tintagel is a must-see, as are the town's many other eateries and bars. The adventurous can take a walk along the SW Coast Path, which passes through the village and winds its way along the cliffs and down to the water's edge in both directions through spectacular terrain. The picturesque village of Boscastle, with its picturesque waterfront and village taverns, may be reached in about 2.5 miles by following the trail northward. Further distant are the resort towns of Newquay and Bude, known for their surfing, while the natural beauty of Bodmin Moor, the Eden Project, Padstow, the Camel Estuary, and Port Isaac can all be reached by car.
Region Cornwall’s visitors are constantly tempted back to the beautiful coastline, tiny fishing villages, hidden coves and the world-class surfing. Whatever the reason, Cornwall has long cemented its place as one of Britain’s premier holiday destinations.
