A lovely well equipped and a very nicely high end furnished apartment with totally stunning views over the beach. Just about everything you would be likely to need are in kitchen, if you wanted to cook and eat in. A nice Cornish tea was awaiting our arrival. The beach is only a short walk away and plenty of good eating places are close by in a short walking distance. You get a free parking permit to the car park opposite, which was very helpful. The Wi-fi connection is good and reliable. Bath Towels are soft, the showers are great and enough toiletries to last the week.
Unfortunately we were unable to chill out and relax and make good use of the terrace, as we had planned to, as there is a big seagull issue. Sit outside and you are likely to get targeted unless it is dark and they have stopped flying for the night. The windows , the terrace floor, the outdoor furniture and the terrace screen all get covered in seagull mess. On arrival the windows and screening were totally covered in mess and we had to contact the housekeeper who said, 'they had been cleaned that morning' , but there seemed an excessive amount on them for only a 5hr time span from cleaning to our arrival and we were not impressed. The housekeeper returned the next morning to clean the apartment windows but would not clean the terrace screen, as the mess was on the wrong side of the screen and not her job to clean! Not the sort of customer care you expect when paying nearly £1,000 for a weeks rental. There were a couple of other issues regarding the cleaning, which are being taken up with the owner. The apartment does get very hot and would benefit from some form of air conditioning, or fans at the very least, there is no window that can be left open, apart from the bedroom facing the High Street and if you have the terrace sliding doors open during the day, chances are some seagull mess will hit the floor :( The Terrace could do with some form of a large parasol to give protection from the seagulls aiming at you and also some shade if you want to sit out) The apartment is next door to a couple of eateries and on the Saturday there was live music event loudly booming out from mid-day to midnight, no idea if a one off party or a regular weekly event, but if it is regular it needs to be mentioned in the apartment information, we ended up having to go out to get away from it. Would we return, no... the seagulls are a big problem.
