There are thrillseekers and sports enthusiasts, poolside loungers and balcony sitters, comfort creatures and luxury connoisors, readers, gamers, cooks, and explorers, and that lineup is scary to cater for, but you’d be relieved to know that a place with such range actually exists. Head to Juršići in the Istria region of Croatia to find this oasis. Modern and luxurious, you’re totally in control of your holiday here. Natural materials and a clean colour palette cuts clean lines throughout the home and creates a relaxing environment for you to simply be. With some of the rooms opening to a Juliet balcony and others featuring a small terrace, you’re welcome to throw the doors open first thing in the morning as you enjoy a cup of coffee in bed. After a lazy start, come together at the large, solid-wood dining table for breakfast as you plan the day ahead.

The beach is over a twenty-minute drive away, and you can get to a national park and some authentic restaurants in even less time than that, but if you want to take advantage of everything this villa has to offer, then we certainly wouldn’t blame you. Play a game of mini golf on your private course or head out to play a few sets of tennis. If you fancy yourself a football rookie, you might enjoy practising your penalty shots at the football goal, or wander to the gym for a quick workout before washing down and relaxing in the sauna. Reconvene for lunch alfresco and when evening draws close, you might light up the barbecue for a mediterranean grill, but not before a few friendly games of shoulder wars in the pool. Watch the sunset together, albeit from a spot poolside or the egg chairs on the balcony, and enjoy the wines of the region as the day winds down.
