Morton House and The Stable Block are 2 individual holiday properties in the market town of Masham – gateway to the Yorkshire Dales.  Taken as one for groups and extended families or individually for couples and parties up to 6. 
4brm Morton House sleeps up to 9 guests
3brm Stable Block sleeps 2 - 6 guests.  So in total the 7brms sleep up to 14 guests. 

 

MORTON HOUSE

This property is Grade II listed and one of the oldest properties in Masham.  2007/8 we made a sensitive renovation to offer high quality holiday accommodation.  Over 3 floors this very special property takes you back to an era when life was slower, take some time to breathe and relax.  To the front of the property there are the 2 cosy reception rooms - one with flat screen TV and SKY package, the other a quiet retreat to enjoy the Chesterfield sofas and some time out.  To the rear the lobby offers a spot to drop your coat and boots after a Dales walk and the large farmhouse style kitchen / diner with its centre island and 7ft dining table.  The kitchen is fully kitted out for you to feed lots of hungry mouths after exploring Yorkshire and plenty of space to prepare a picnic to take on your next adventure.  There is also a utility area with large washing machine and tumble dryer.  At the rear there is the walled courtyard garden shared with the Stable Block.  Upstairs on the first floor there are 3 bedrooms - to the front of the property the Gold Room has a super-king bed and the Princess Room an old cast iron double bed.  These rooms share the large house bathroom with bath and shower over.  At the rear there the large twin bedroom with its en-suite shower room.  Up again into the loft master suite with its king size bed under the beams and en-suite bathroom with romantic roll top bath.  There is also a full-size single daybed in this room for an extra quest if required.  The loft suite is the entire width of the house.  The property is centrally heated throughout and open all year.

 

THE STABLE BLOCK

Our older guests love the 3brm Stable Block with the patio doors opening to the walled courtyard garden and is suited to those with limited mobility.  The ground floor is all one level, no steps in here – you have the open plan living/kitchen/diner with comfy sofa, dining table to seat 6 and full kitchen.  There is also the flat screen TV with SKY package, movies and sports.  The ground floor double bedroom has patio doors opening to the garden and an en-suite shower room.  There is underfloor heating throughout the ground floor.  Upstairs are a further 2 bedrooms under the beamed ceiling– one with a king bed the other with a single bed and additional pull-out for a 6th guest.  These two bedrooms share the use of the upstairs shower room. 

 

Due to the Covid pandemic we have split the garden with attractive planter trellising and each property has its own separate entrance, being each a fully self-contained property.  Please see the floor plan to understand how the properties are attached.

 

The properties are rented separately and together for larger groups.  Pets are considered when one group is taking the entire property.  Open all year.  Weekly bookings in holiday periods.

This house was a perfect way to enjoy our milestone birthdays in style. Being in Masham with all its pubs and 2 breweries we all had a fantastic time. The accommodation in the house was really good and as there were about 14 of us there was plenty of room and weren't on top of each other. The kitchen is really big and a great social space at the heart of the home and for parking there is plenty of free space outside the property on the road. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting to get away for a bit with a few friends. There are also lots of walks around the area should anyone have this interest too.
