Holiday home
Middlegate is a detached ground floor cottage on the owner's working farm, just three miles from Malton in North Yorkshire. The cottage sleeps six people and has two double bedrooms, a twin room and a family bathroom. It also has a fitted kitchen with breakfast bar and dining area and a sitting room with a woodburning stove. Outside is off road parking and a lawned garden with outdoor furniture. Ideally situated for discovering the magnificent North York Moors, Middlegate is also just a short drive from the North Yorkshire coast and provides a delightful spot for a family holiday in this wonderful county.

All ground floor. Three bedrooms: 2 x double, 1 x twin. Bathroom with bath, separate shower, basin and WC. Basin and WC. Kitchen with breakfast bar and dining area. Utility. Sitting room with woodburning stove.

Area
The town of Malton has many interesting buildings including the old Corn Exchange and Assembly Rooms. A weekly market is still held in the town, as well as livestock and farmers' markets. The Yorkshire Moors are to the north, and the Yorkshire Wolds are to the south, making it excellent country for walkers and cyclists.

Region
The North York Moors National Park covers 554 square miles, with landscape ranging from heather-clad moorland and deep secluded dales, to the cliffs and coves of the magnificent coastline making it a haven for walkers.

An excellent cottage to stay in with small children, field of horses next to the house excellent, and was able to go up to the main farm the see the lambs.. Location perfect for us to explore the area and see things, such as the NRM, NYMR, Heartbeat land, Whitby's fish & chips, Scarborough Market etc and also to view some potential locations to relocate too.

Cottage very spacious,clean & had everything you needed.. Owners friendly & once they had welcomed you,they left you alone but they were on hand if needed.It was sooo quiet at times I thought I had gone deaf!!We had a super holiday...plenty to do without having to travel far.Thoroughly recommend a stay in Middlegate.

Because the cottage is on a farm flies were a small problem.. In warm weather it may be worse. Nevertheless seeing farm animals and listening to owls at night was a good experience The cottage was modern, very comfortable and safe. The terrain was flat but the sky was wide and sunrise, sunset was beautiful.

Excellent property, great base for visiting the area or just relaxing.. All the comforts of home. Only one minor concern for pets or young children is the barb wire on the back fence of the property being on the inside of the fence and not the outside as on the other sides of the property.

Beautiful bungalow much more spacious than we had expected, we really loved the peace and quiet ideal if you want quietness and off the beaten track.. Loads of attractions nearby and not far from the Gorgeous north York moors as well as the coast. Robin Hoods bay is a must beautiful quaint coastal village totally unspoilt. Would love to visit the area again.

Carol was lovely.. Nothing was any trouble, she will bend over backwards to help you. The property was great. Very clean, warm and comfortable and great for our dogs with the enclosed yard. We didn't want to leave. The house was decorated for Christmas and Carol presented us with a Christmas present as we left which I will always remember where they came from. Thank you! We will highly recommend this property. As for the area, there are many great little old pubs and plenty of other things to do and see close by.

This cottage is one of, if not the best, we have ever stayed in. The facilities were second to none, everything you could need was readily available. Carol and Andrew made us feel very welcome and supplied us with the basic necessities needed until we visited a supermarket. The cottage was very clean upon arrival. The views are fantastic and the sight of new lambs bounding across the fields were wonderful. Although we had brilliant weather, there were plenty of games and DVDs available if the weather had a turn for the worse. Even though the cottage is situated near a working farm, we did not experience any unpleasant odours. If you are looking for a place to escape to for peace and quiet then Middlegate cottage is it. We have had such a good week here that we have booked a two week stay next year. This really is a rural gem that you can only appreciate once you have stayed.
