Many fine Georgian buildings remain from this era, adding an air of elegance to the town's heart. For those who prefer outdoor pursuits, the Dove and Manifold Valleys are close by, offering wonderful walking opportunities. Alton Towers Theme Park is just 20 minutes drive away and makes a fun day out for all the family.

The cottage is in a beautiful, peaceful village and was ideal for us as it has no nearby houses, ideal with the Covid situation at the moment.. Lovely walks from the door and lots of places to visit. We were very lucky that the weather was glorious for the entire week.

Really cosy and well equipped cottage situated in a beautiful location with easy access to lovely walks, the Tissington Trail, Chatsworth House and attractive towns and villages..

Great cottage and had everything we hoped for.. Very rural location so what we expected. Very clean and spacious. Only downside is we asked whether we needed dishwater tablets and toilet roll etc and were told no. However 2 dishwasher tablets and 4 toilet rolls doesn’t last a week for a family for 5 so we have to search for supermarket to restock when we would have brought some from home. Again though, small issue in a great place.

Lovely house and location, Ashbourne is nice and fabulous drive to Bakewell from property, Proximity to Alton Towers was a big plus, was so nice having a short drive back after a tiring day.. Felt the house itself although lovely needs sprucing up inside, new Sofa and Armchairs are needed or at least a very good clean but overall would definitely recommend.

Very comfortable cottage in a quiet location, our second visit.. The 4G phone worked as a hub for internet connection. Shame the road from the village towards Waterhouses is closed for several months, had to use the narrow bendy road, take care.

We had a lovely stay in Marsh cottage, it was well equipped and surrounded by lovely peaceful countryside.. It was very comfortable and well placed for exploring the peak district and surrounding areas. Our three children(aged 5,3 and 2 months) we very happy with the cottage and they particular liked the friendly cows and sheep in the next field.

Think this has to be one of the best holiday cottages we have ever stayed in. It was immaculate and with many thoughtful touches. As we live in the Middle East, a traditional Christmas is something we yearn for and Marsh Cottage was the perfect venue - we really appreciated the kind touches of the owner. Can't fault it in anyway and hope to return.

We loved the location of the property, isolated yet near civilisation for shopping etc. We loved the views from the windows, the house had 'personality.' We found the heating to be super efficient too and were cosy all the time. The utility room was a bonus with the extra toilet downstairs. There are plenty of interesting places to visit in the immediate vicinity.

This is a gorgeous, cosy cottage in the middle of beautiful countryside. It has all the facilities you could possibly need and the owners are dedicated to ensuring the stay goes smoothly. The location is rural but with good access to lovely towns and Alton Towers. The teenagers missed the WiFi but they thoroughly enjoyed themselves anyway!

We were very impressed with the cottage, the kitchen was well equipped and the lounge was warm and comfortable. The cottage itself was isolated which was great for us but with no local shops, you would need a car. We stayed there with friends and there was plenty of parking for two cars and more and plenty of room for four adults in the cottage. I have stayed in many holiday cottages over the years but this one has to be one of the best ever. If there was a tiny fault it was picking up a phone signal but bearing in mind the location, this was to be expected. Couldn't fault it in any other way.

I travelled to Marsh Cottage in August with my husband and son. We had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend this cottage. It was so peaceful and had everything we needed. The cottage was spotless and the fresh flowers was a lovely touch. We were left tea/coffee milk and biscuits. We picked this cottage as it was close to Alton Towers and we are so glad we did.

The flowers on the kitchen table were a very welcoming touch as was the milk in the fridge and the packets of biscuits. We had a long journey and although we'd brought some groceries with us we didn't have any milk so it saved us having to go out again. Marsh Cottage was welcoming and very clean and tidy - a home from home which was lovely.
