Cottage was very good lots of space, new kitchen white goods, new towels and bed linen.. Carparking on the street outside the cottage can be a problem. took me three days to get the car outside the cottage.

Excellent cottage.. Good WiFi. Parking on street outside cottage was not always possible but could park nearby. Toaster was past its sell-by date and needed to be replaced, but otherwise all was fine.

Although not perfect the cottage was well worth the price.. In a fantastic location, across the road from shop and pub and walking distance to Robin Hood's bay and some lovely coastal walks. The ensuite bath was fantastic. All in all I would recommend

The cottage was 100% perfect and everything was absolutely ideal but what I did not like was the fact that Sykes Cottages emailed me ALMOST EVERY DAY from the time of booking up to and including my holiday.. THIS IS TOO MUCH and for that reason I would not recommend Sykes Cottages

The cottage was lovely, comfortable and clean.. Flyingthorpe is a charming village with a pub and two small local food stores. It was convenient for visiting Robin Hood’s Bay; Whitby and Scarborough were easily accessible by bus. My family thoroughly enjoyed their stay here.

Cottage itself was lovely.. Parking was terrible. The picture shows no cars parked outside of cottage. Was very lucky if you could get a parking space. Sometimes had to drive round village to find a space, not very convenient when trying to unpack the car. Large cottage to accommodate 5 people impossible to park 2 cars.

Very near to the beach (Robin Hood's Bay through a lovely walk), nice quiet village, beautiful cottage, equipped with absolutely everything needed for a perfect stay.. Only suggestion, to improve would be an orange press (but that's nit picking). Had a lovely week!

The owners seem to have provided everything that could possibly be required! The cottage was comfortable, cosy and homely. My only adverse comment is that the front bedroom window left one exposed to view from the houses opposite and could have done with net curtains. The lovely village store within a few seconds walk was an unexpected bonus. The cottage is well placed for trips up and down the coast, and we used the excellent half-hourly X93 bus service from just round the corner to Whitby and back on a couple of occasions, thus avoiding parking problems in Whitby. It is a wonderful area, and I would recommend this cottage to anyone wanting to get to know it or coming back to it.

We had a fantastic week at Lyndale Cottage - it was a perfect sized property for two grown-ups and two small children, very well equipped, immaculately presented and with a great kitchen, yet with lots of character.. It is in a really nice location, about 20 minutes walk to the bottom of Bay down a lovely path across the fields and through the woods. We walked down to the beach in the morning and then one of us went back to get the car to pick up the kids at the top of the bank which worked well. There is a handy village shop a few doors down, as well as a playground and a good pub less than a minute away. The walks up from the property to Raw and around the bay are really great too. And of course RHB itself is one of the most beautiful locations in the country with lots to do along the coast and just inland at Goatland and May Beck.

The cottage was lovely.. It felt and looked like you think a country cottage would be with things like the beams and the latches on the doors but with modern facilities ie central heating ,dish washer etc. The location is good being peaceful but with a shop and pub very close. It is in a pretty village and only 3/4 mile walk over the fields to Robin Hood Bay so no need to use the car or worry about parking.

Nice cottage .. Good that it had a bathroom downstairs as well but not too good that the upstairs bathroom was in one of the bedrooms

Absolutely perfect seaside holiday! Lyndale Cottage had everything we were looking for...close to the sea, coastal walks and nearby villages. The cottage itself was lovely... exposed beam ceilings, fireplaces, perfectly fitted kitchen. The information books left on the house and the area were spectacular!!! Thank you, we will return!

We were very impressed with Lyndale cottage.. I needed to check some details with the owners, who were very helpful. The cottage was warm and comfortable, and, compared with some cottages we have stayed in, equipped to a very high standard. Our only regret was that we had to leave a day early because of the threat of snow. We would like to come back!

It is a very pleasant cottage - warm and well decorated. The bedrooms had excellent beds and bedding and the en suite in bedroom one was nicely done with a roll top bath. We were unable to make use of it however because you need a degree of agility (which we no long have). However there is another bathroom downstairs with a nice over bath shower. The kitchen is well equipt with a good large 'fridge. I was surprised at the wall thickness here - 18" which was very good in reducing ambient household noise. The furniture was comfortable and the tv was very good. The only thing that was strange was the total lack of a radio signal - however, due to the excellent high speed wifi I could listen on my laptop. The wifi was also easily fast enough to watch streaming tv broacasts. It's a relatively shortish walk to Robin Hoods Bay and the very steep walk down to the excellent beach. There is a friendly local shop on the corner of the road with a good selection of items that you are likely to need. for more shopping Whitby is only a short drive away - Sainsburys is conveniently a couple of miles away on the main road to Whitby. We had a very nice week at Lyndale Cottage and would happily go again.

Stayed at Lyndale Cottage in August with my partner, daughter and 2 year old grandson. The cottage was beautiful. Well situated for exploring Yorkshire. Home from home, cosy, comfy and all to hand. Went for a meal at Fylingthorpe Arms which I would recommend, and the village has all you require for grocers and even a butchers round the corner. All in all a super cottage and location.

We loved the space in the cottage. The seating in the lounge was very comfortable and we liked having an open fire. The heating was very efficient and warm and toasty. The kitchen was well equipped. The cottage was extremely clean and the towels large and fluffy, which makes a welcome change. We had no problems parking near the cottage and local shops were great.
