We are currently staying in this cottage. It is roomy, spacious, well stocked in the kitchen and in a great location. We are a family of 5 (3 teenagers) and appreciate enough space for us all. One of my pet peeves on holiday is all having g to cram around a tiny dining table. This cottage has a lovely big table with loaf of space. The photos don't show how big the rooms are. Even the shower room is good size. (Yes bedroom 3 is small but the beds themselves are good size and solid beds). All the fixtures are good quality - great curtains, solid wood beds etc. Bedding lovely. The hot tub is heated to a good temperature. The yard is small as eescrived but still has a small washing line and bbq. An easy to get in and out of parking space. Less than 10 minutes walk to the centre of Whitby but also easy to go out in the car. I would definitely recommend this cottage and stay again. The only reason it didn't get 5 stars is the rug in the lounge has seen better days and needs a good clean. The rear door mat was soaking when we arrived and also needs a wash. The rest of the cleaning has been great. (We stay in lots of self catering and this is one of the better ones).

We arrived in Whitby for a weekend break to find a lovely cozy cottage. I was apprehensive at first after reading the trip advisor reviews but found the property to be lovely and clean. The hot tub is a major plus for us especially for soothing sore muscles after walking miles on the beech. The town its self was very nice I've never been to Yorkshire before but found it very quaint and certainly loads of lovely little coffe shops and restaurants

We stayed 3 nights , see previous reviews for room facilities, but as a previous review er has said , our party also found on arrival that Linskill House had a poor cleaning regime , carpets hadn’t been hoovered , food left in freezer , loose handle on cooker , and generally felt that the property needed a deep clean especially in these current climes . Saving grace was bedding and towels were clean . We cleaned the property up ourselves on arrival so we could enjoy our stay . But you shouldn’t have to do this when paying a premium price . Sykes Cottages sent a email before we left that we had empty the fridge , freezer , and cupboards , when we arrived the freezer had ice and food in from the previous visitors , so it hasn’t been checked . Sykes said leave the property as we found it , we couldn’t possibly do that as it was filthy .. Hot tub was clean and there were off street parking which is a bonus .. Don’t think we still stay here again due to the increase of the rental price ..

We booked through Yorkshire Coastal Cottages, the holiday was held over from last year. No issues with Yorkshire Coastal Cottages at all. The property has three bedrooms, one King size en suite, one double and one twin, plus a downstairs shower rooms toilet. All rooms and bedding excellent quality. Large enough lounge for us (2 adults and two kids), could have done with a nest of tables as nowhere to stand drinks. A large kitchen diner with everything you could need. The washing machine was a washerdryer and the dryer wasn't very efficient. Outside was a hot tub which was fantastic, serviced while we were there, a gas BBQ, and a small bench. Absolutely nowhere outside other than that, personally I can't see the point of having a BBQ is you can't sit outside to enjoy it. As the dryer wasnt too efficient I think a clothes airer which could be placed outside would be useful. My only other point would be to stress that the property is a 15 minute walk downhill to the bridge over the river, no way could I walk back up that hill!! Anyone with mobility issues (or a bit older like us!) please be aware you will need to drive or use a taxi to get about and see what you want to see in Whitby.

Firstly, the property a 3 bedroom property, sleeping 6, not a 6 bed property. When we arrived we were disgusted by the levels of cleanliness, it took 2 of us an hour to clean it. Lots of the properties decorations are quite old & tired. The property could actually be quite nice as in general its pretty nice in a good location with just a better cleaner & a few coats of paint, a shame really
