Hosts were pleasant and helpful.. The bathroom needs some storage space and towels could have been changed during the week. It would have been pleasant to sit outside in the evening particularly as we experienced good weather.

Simply put, this is just the most beautiful cottage; the pictures do not do it justice. The decor is just lovely and the furnishings are wonderful. Beautiful four post bed and jacuzzi bath are ideal fora perfect and romantic getaway. The owners are absolutely wonderful people with a fantastic story and it was humbling to hear some of their remarkable journey. Alnwick gardens are stunning. Warkworth beach is timeless. Banburgh beach is one of the most beautiful places imaginable, with an incredible history. An amazing break.

I really enjoyed my stay at Jenny’s Cottage.. Dorothy and her husband were really friendly and brought me a pint of milk. The property was warm and welcoming so I instantly felt settled. The property itself isn’t in Alnmouth. This wasn’t an issue as it is very near the station (also not in Alnmouth) but maybe helpful to list it as being in Bilton. The front door stuck a bit but again that’s a very minor quibble. The facilities were really good (supremely comfy 4-poster bed, jacuzzi bath) and the views, especially from the living room, were to die for.

I think Sykes cottages had the cottage down as NOT having wifi.. It nearly put us off booking, but in fact it had very good free wifi. Owners smashing friendly people, nothing too much trouble. We loved the cottage. It would be nice to have a breadboard as well as a chopping board. Also a small measuring jug.

We stayed over easter 2018, the weather was awful but thank goodness the cottage was warm and cosy.. The view form the sitting room is terrific and the setting very quiet. It was a great place to explore the Northumberland coast from - handy for Alnwick, Howick Hall, Lindisfarne and as many castles as you can manage The kitchen facilities were great, and as we like to self cater this was important. The hosts were very welcoming. I would recommend this cottage and would definitely stay here again.

Great location for exploring the area - we walked on the beach, went to alnwick Castle and Gardens (inc the Treehouse restaurant!), Dunstanburgh Castle, Barter books...all within a ten-fifteen minute drive. Absolutely perfect place to stay if you are visiting Northumberland and this cottage offers fantastic views, great location and very comfortable relaxing surroundings. To be able to sit in the evening and watch an owl hunting in the adjacent field whilst the sunsets over alnmouth is idyllic. Alnmouth is an easy stroll for walkers of around 2 miles or a quick trip in the car, with good parking near the boat yard or all day on the common next to the beach. We could not fault this cottage as it has everything you need for a relaxing break and the owners are onhand if required. Best night sleeps we have had for a while and we just loved the peace and quiet. This is definitely on our list for a revisit at some stage.
Mr Davies

We picked Jenny's Cottage off the internet, and are so glad we did. Situated on a working farm, it is easily accessible from the a1, and only a short drive into alnmouth or alnwick - perfect for exploring all the properties and gardens in the surrounding area. The cottage itself is very well appointed, with living space/kitchen on the first floor, accessed by a spiral staircase, and bedroom/bathroom on the ground. The view from the first floor window is across the fields to alnmouth and the sea - couldn't be better ! The owners live in the farmhouse across the courtyard, and were extremely friendly and helpful, without being at all intrusive. We will definitely be returning !

December 2009
On a working farm, this is one of three 2 storey cottages converted from a barn (they also have other cottages and Bed and breakfast in their adjacent farmhouse. Our cottage had a four poster bed and bathroom on the ground floor and a lounge/diner/kitchen in a modern open-plan layout(well designed by the owner) We had a great view of the sea across the fields and were able to watch the resident barn owl hunting over the field. We booked there to be near Alnwick Garden and to be able to birdwatch on the farne islands and Lindisfarne. It was ideal for this and we had perfect sunny weather all week! Only possible problem for less abled perople is the spiral staircase, but the adjacent unit had a proper staircase-as maybe the others do too-so ask before booking. Not a problem for us. We would recommend.
