Located on a hilltop in Tuscany, this former farm shed is surrounded by olive groves and rows of vines. While it may not be the most luxurious home in our collection – some areas feel a little dated – with a sunny pool area, a patio for alfresco dining and good road links to tourist hotspots like Pisa and Florence, we still think it has plenty to offer. There are a lot of steps here, as well as a partially open staircase, so it may not be the best option for those with young children or reduced mobility.

Home truths:
*If you're travelling with little ones, your host can provide a cot and high chair for free. You'll need to request them in advance.
*The swimming pool is open from the last Saturday in April to the first Saturday in October. It isn't fenced so children will need to be supervised at all times.
*The traditional decor here might not be to everyone's taste. It feels a little dated in parts.
*There are three steps leading to the kitchen and lots of steps leading to the pool area, so it might not be the best option for those with limited mobility.
*The staircase is partially open so children will need to be supervised when using it.
*We recommend hiring a car to get the most out of your stay here. There’s free on-site parking.
