Located on a hilltop in Tuscany, this former farm shed is surrounded by olive groves and rows of vines. While it may not be the most luxurious home in our collection – some areas feel a little dated – with a sunny pool area, a patio for alfresco dining and good road links to tourist hotspots like Pisa and Florence, we still think it has plenty to offer. There are a lot of steps here, as well as a partially open staircase, so it may not be the best option for those with young children or reduced mobility.

Home truths
If you're travelling with little ones, your host can provide a cot and high chair for free. You'll need to request them in advance.
The swimming pool is open from the last Saturday in April to the first Saturday in October. It isn't fenced so children will need to be supervised at all times.
The traditional decor here might not be to everyone's taste. It feels a little dated in parts.
There are three steps leading to the kitchen and lots of steps leading to the pool area, so it might not be the best option for those with limited mobility.
The staircase is partially open so children will need to be supervised when using it.
