The cottage we booked was great in every respect, we are extremely satisfied with our stay and would recommend the cottage to other people.. We would however not recommend Sykes Cottages or, more specifically, booking with Sykes Cottages: The process was laborious, we had to confirm our identity and our intention of booking the cottage multiple times despite having indicated all necessary information via booking.com. We were asked multiple times to call the agency (we didn't want to do that because it's terribly expensive from Switzerland and we already had given the agency all information they needed). We were really happy when we could finally contact the hosts directly. So we would definitely recommend the cottage/hosts, but not the agency.

A very comfortable and beautifully renovated cottage.. Wonderful views and great drives. we had thought Glencar was a village, but it wasn't, luckily we had brought lots of food etc with us. 12 miles or so to Killorglin if you need a supermarket/shop. We soon got used to it! Cottage has a good sized fridge and freezer, ( not always the case in many other properties) so stocking up was easy. We loved this cottage and were blessed with fantastic weather....in November! The washing machine was good, but a tumble dryer would be needed, especially in poor weather and muddy children's/adults clothes after walks/cycles etc. There is an airing cupboard, which helps a little.

A loverly warm welcome on our arrival from the owners.. The cottage is very beautiful and in a very rural and tranquil location. Appointed to very high standard making for a very comfortable and homely holiday cottage and a great base to explore this very picturesque and stunning area of Ireland.
