Excellent location on the edge of the lake. Beautiful views all around and a lovely part of the world. We were greeted by Delia with such a warm welcome and shown around her lovely Cottage. My husband fished from the boat and from the shore ,and the weather couldn’t have been better for the whole week we were there. Lovely comfortable bed and well equipped kitchen. There are three shops in this area and the nearest one is 8 minutes by Car. There’s a Chemist in Costello which is a bit further along on the same road ,and a garage. Lovely friendly people ,and a very helpful Man called Sean who helped me with a query about my Car outside Centra in Lettermullen. There’s a Church and lrish Colleges in the Area and lots of teenagers there to learn lrish. It’s certainly a beautiful place and we had a glorious week. Thankyou Delia and lm sure we will return.

Delia is a lovely host, providing us with an exceptionally warm welcome and very detailed information about the house.. No photographs can do the islands of Ceantar na nOileán justice and in turn, Delias Lake House. The house is rustic but with all modcons and the location is beautifully scenic. The livingroom is very cozy, with a massive fireplace the main focal point. Some very lovely decorative touches throughout the house. Taking the boat on the lake was great craic, and under the Autumn sun just idyllic. Walkers have lots of options, with just one "main" road as an artery running through the island there is a large network of laneways and trails to navigate without the worry of traffic. For starters I would recommend the loop around the lake, which can be extended by walking down to the rugged shoreline. Tigh Lee's pub is a short stroll away and highly recommended for a few(too many) pints and conversation with the incredibly friendly locals. If you are looking for some local seafood you should ask around for contact numbers for local fishermen, we managed to purchase a huge amount of freshly caught shellfish for a fraction of the cost you would pay at market value. If you want to visit a truly unique corner of Connemara I cant recommend this property enough. Largely untouched by tourism with a purity of Gaelic culture little present elsewhere in Ireland but still in reach of the sights of North Connemara. Thank you Delia for the opportunity for outsiders to enjoy this region from such a beautiful home.

The Lake House was amazing, it was well equipped, and Delia had gone above and beyond to make our arrival delightful.. The fire was lit and a pot of fresh coffee was ready and waiting. WiFi would be helpful.. Otherwise a nice cottage, located in a quiet region. We liked the lake! Good location base to discover the Connemara and the Aran islands. Regarding Sykes - due to changes in our travel plans, we had to return some days early. The no refund policy of Sykes meant we lost 100% for that period. That is a reason not to book with Sykes anymore.

A cosy old family cottage on a perfect spot on the shore of a beautiful, nearly private lake with its own rowing boat.. Enjoyed very much our stay here, especially the daytrip we made to one of the Aran Islands.

The owner of the cottage was wonderfully welcoming and helpful (even fire lit & coffee brewed ready for our arrival - thank you) - and the house was warm, comfortable & well-equipped.. Having our own lake & boat for a week was just amazing too!

This is a most beautiful Irish cottage off the coast of Connemara.. It is so well equipped, making your stay so relaxing and enjoyable. The owner, Delia, is so welcoming and helpful and has a very detailed knowledge of the area, as she was born on the island. The cottage itself has an aura of peace, warmth and tranquillity and the views over the lake from the dining room window are stunning. At the end of my stay, I just wanted to stay another week, as it was such a relaxing holiday. I will certainly return next year! I recommend most highly this lovely cottage. It's not often that you arrive at a holiday rental to find that it is even better than you had imagined it to be. The lake house was truly amazing. Everything from beginning to end was just so. The warm welcome of the owners was second to none and nothing was too much trouble for them. They even had the stove lit for us before we arrived fantastic touch and so thoughtful. The setting of the cottage was in my opinion a little bit of heaven, so much so I was none too happy when I had to leave. Will definitely be returning to The Lake House as soon as is possible for the peace and quiet that I found while there. Carmel 12/4/2014 Rutland, Leicestershire

We had 2 wonderful weeks in this lovely cottage and enjoyed the location at the lake and very close to the Atlantic, the cosy atmosphere of the cottage and the friendliness of the owners. We loved sitting on the swing close to the lake early in the morning with a cup of coffee and enjoying this fantastic view over the sea.
