We arrived late at Emblestones, so didn't get to appreciate the view until the next morning, it is mesmerising! We have watched it for hours! Emlestones is great, we've been holidaying with Sykes up in Northumberland for years, it is very handy for where we like to visit and the miles and miles of unspoilt beaches are of course loved by both ourselves and the dogs. The walk around the bay to the Ship Inn at Low Newton for hearty soup followed by a delicious crumble and cream was a real treat, my husband even had a pint or two of the Emblestones! It would have been very rude not to! This has been a fantastic holiday, we have relaxed, recharged and are ready to return to Emblestones next year!

We absolutely loved our stay.. The apartment was beautifully decorated and furnished and in a breathtaking location overlooking the bay. Perfect for long walks and lazy lunches. The owners have thought of everything possible to make the stay comfortable right down to a little ‘cave’ for the dog. Couldn’t of asked for more.

The bathroom is very cramped.. We are both slim and found it so, I would imagine that a large person would struggle.

Emblestones is an extremely comfortable cottage in a peaceful situation, which has breathtaking view over fields to Embleton Bay and the sea.. A short walk down the lane beside the property leads to a golf course and the glorious sands of the bay, with the ruins of Dunstanburgh Castle high on its cliff setting about a mile to the south. There are many things to see and do near the cottage, and we particularly enjoyed visiting Bamburgh Castle, the gardens next to Alnwick Castle together with the delightful town of Alnwick itself (Barter Books, a second-hand and antiquarian emporium situated in the old Alnwick station building is a must for book-lovers) and Howick Hall gardens. As for golfers, they'll be spoilt for choice with the myriad of courses in the surrounding area. We loved every minute of our holiday and would definitely recommend Embletones for its cleanliness, comfort and situation. The owners are very helpful without being intrusive, and the log-burner in the living-room was the icing on the cake!

You are guaranteed a warm welcome at Emblestones.. It is the perfect place to stay and explore this beautiful part of Northumberland, with the coast, castles and gardens there is so much to do. It is extremely well-appointed and has the most wonderful views down to the sea - we would certainly recommend a holiday here.

Property was of the highest standard and quality furnishings.. Scrupulously clean. Great use of space. Loved every minute of it. So much so we have booked already for this year and next. Sky TV and film choices are brilliant and so much choice. Everything taken care of for us, nothing to think about other than feeding ourselves. Perfectly relaxing and a killer view of the stunning Northumberland coast of Embleton, including our own "pet" cows, sheep, rabbits. Dunstanburgh Castle in full view. Easy coastal walks for the fair-weather variety. Local amenties are adequate for holiday purposes and sufficient to satisfy all needs for getting away from it all. Thank you Bridget, Justin and family, good luck in your new venture from the McIntoshs' :)
