Mr Saxton
December 2018
Woodpecker cottage and Gill (who runs it) exceeded my expectations.. Little things like, salt and pepper, washing up liquid...….. dishwasher tablets, you name it and it was provided (things I always forget!). The local supermarkets deliver and the postcode is well known to the delivery persons. Set in silent countryside, 3 miles from the nearest pub! Beautiful walks (weather permitting) and lots of places of interest nearby. A car is recommended but not obligatory.
The bed was the most comfortable I've ever slept in and the décor is perfectly in tune. Both bedrooms being en-suite and the views are gorgeous.
On arrival I was greeted with milk in the fridge, tea bags on the table and a plate of fresh scones (or is it scones?) with clotted cream and jam. In front of a log burning fire!
I wish Gill and her son Carl all the very best and aim to see them again early next season...…. and cant wait to see Rinny again, their 4 year old Alsatian with the most beautifully relaxed temperament.
