Holiday home
The Roundhouse is an unusual wooden roundhouse on an organic farm, near the village of Stratton-on-the-Fosse. There is one spacious room with four poster double bed, two folding beds on request, small kitchen area, dining area and a sitting area, all warmed beautifully by the log burner. There is a bathroom en-suite to the main room, with a compost WC in the boot room. Outside is a private, covered patio with furniture and off road parking for two cars. The Roundhouse is ideally placed for enjoying Bath, the Mendips, Glastonbury or Cheddar Gorge, and makes for a wonderful retreat for couples or a small family.

Accomodation Details
All ground floor. Open plan yurt-style accommodation with 1 x four poster double bed, 2 x folding beds (on request before booking, please note: there is a £30 surcharge per additional guest payable directly to the owner), simple fitted kitchen area, dining area and sitting area with woodburning stove. En-suite bathroom with roll-top bath (not full size), hand-held shower attachment and basin. Boot room with compost WC.

Area
Stratton-on-the-Fosse is a small village on the Fosse Way, close to Bath and Wells, and surrounded by the beautiful countryside of Somerset. Walking in the Mendips, Glastonbury, Cheddar Gorge and Wookey Hole are all easily enjoyed from the village.

Somerset offers 3 areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty - the Quantock, Mendip and Blackdown Hills. Lose yourself in the glory of nature, take a ride on a steam train, visit a traditional farmers' market or explore your mystical side at Glastonbury.

Sorry, no pets and no smoking. Shop 1 mile, pub 10 mins walk. Note: This property is on a working farm, therefore children must be supervised at all times. Note: Geese, turkeys, ducks, cows, dogs, chickens, pigs and sheep on site. Note: No TV or WiFi

We had a lovely time at the Roundhouse - really atmospheric and beautifully built.. It's got everything you need - warm even on cold days with the woodburner and a good supply of hot water. I thought this was great value holiday for half-term and a nice, gentle introduction to more sustainable holidays for kids.

Didn't realise we would be sharing with quite as many spiders that we could see let alone the ones we couldn't.. Understood the situation with the toilet, however, this was not cleaned until Wednesday and we were due to leave Friday and it did smell. Didn't feel we were able to wash properly due to the small bath and hand held shower as my partner is over 6 foot. The owners were lovely and very friendly, however, we could not relax and I love being in the country and roughing it but even still we left a day early. The property needs some fixing up as the photos are not true to state as were done when originally built some years ago.

The Roundhouse is a superb little getaway.. Very cosy and comfortable inside, but not at all cramped. Great care has been taken to make the Roundhouse ecofriendly , whilst also having enough of the day to day 'luxuries', such as hot water on demand, to ensure you don't have to 'rough it'. Lovely peaceful surroundings on an organic farm, which you can walk around freely and enjoy the beautiful countryside, and the farm animals. The owners are very helpful and really care about your stay. They are always available, whilst never being intrusive. The Roundhouse is well situated to visit attractions such as Bath, Wells, Glastonbury, Nunney Castle, etc, and has a good variety of pubs and eateries within a short driving distance.

Wonderful, peaceful space located on a quiet farm.. Enjoyed the environmentally friendly approach to living and the opportunity to have a weekend away from busy life. Great hosts - in touch but not pushy. Roundhouse has the basics provided but at a high standard. Warm and cosy with space for our family of 4.

The owners could not have done more to make us feel welcome yet also allow us perfect peace and relaxation. A true getaway yet close to many spots for sight-seeing and experiences. A perfect retreat!

Lovely host, excellent location for exploring Somerset.. If you don't like quiet it's not the place for you, no T.V. WiFi or radio ( which I think would be a good thing to take) Read the blurb about the accommodation so you know what is involved , it has a composting toilet which was no problem for us and it's the first time we have used one, ( just needs a little step for the more vertically challenged ) All in all we had a very pleasant stay.

This was a great place located on an organic farm run by Helen and Brock who are passionate about the organic lifestyle and live it to the full.. It was great to be allowed to sample this first hand and has converted me to buying as much organic produce as I can, my partner was already a convert. The roundhouse was warm and comfortable and we jutted loved the tranquility and back to nature aspects of this cottage. The bonus was looking up at the stars with no light pollution just marvellous. Our 8 year old boy loved feeding the pigs and our walks around this lovely area.
