Area
Marske-by-the-Sea is a small, coastal village with long, wide, sandy beaches. Originally an old fishing village, it now has a selection of local shops and pubs, which cater for all the family, plus the safe, sandy beaches, sand dunes and fishing boats. Places of interest nearby include Captain Cook's birthplace, the mining museum, and the Zetland Lifeboat Museum.

This is a very well equipped cottage in a lovely location.. Everything is on your doorstep, beach, shops, pubs and the national parks. The owner Rachel was very helpful and friendly. We will definitely be back and we will recommend the hideaway to our family and friends.

Had a great stay at The Hideaway.. The cottage was very clean, comfortable and cosy. It was nicely decorated with a beach theme. Good quality bedding and towels were provided. It was well equipped with quality goods. Only thing lacking was some whisky glasses for us Scots A hairdryer was provided in the main bedroom. The location was ideal for walks along the beach to either Saltburn or Redcar. We had no trouble parking opposite the cottage.Pub just around the corner serves food and is dog friendly. Rachael even offered us a late checkout which we declined but was a nice touch. She also provided some nice bread, jam, wine and chocolates as well as doggy biscuits. We plan to return. Rosella & Mike Jolly & Alfie our Cavalier.

Absolutely fantastic cottage all the electrical,crockery, cutlery and furnishings are top quality.. This cottage is home from home and everything is at hand ,very well set out and some nice quirky furniture. We met one of the owners Rachael and her parents all very friendly and helpful, we will be back next year as it is a lovely area with just a short walk to the beach. Can't recommend this cottage enough although Rachael wouldn't let me buy it.A great holiday we had and our two dogs loved the beach.

Beautiful cosy cottage in a lovely dog-friendly setting.. Bobby loved his beach walks! The owners are so helpful and on hand to answer any questions we had. We will definitely be rebooking and can’t wait to go back.

What a beautiful cottage.. .... Even though The Hide Away looked lovely on the photos , it was even better in real life....a really spacious terrace. The back garden was safe for my young grandchildren and a beautiful place to sit and enjoy breakfast. Definitely, would highly recommend this cottage and the hosts were absolutely brilliant

The Hide Away was a lovely place to stay, clean and tidy just what we needed for a relaxing break.. The welcome pack was a nice touch. The owners are clearly interested in ensuring your break goes without any hitches, as they kept in touch just to make sure everything was as it should be.

Small but delightfully themed as a seaside cottage, well equipped and very clean.. Bed linen and towels were of a high quality adding to the general feeling of a very comfortable place to take a break. Communications with the owner were first class. All in all a trouble free stay and very good value for money.

The cottage is delightful, tooked up a nice little street.. The cottage is very welcoming, warm & cosy. The kitchen is very well kitted out and everywhere was so clean. It positioned perfectly, 10 mins walk to the beach where you can stroll for miles on unspoilt sand, my daughter loved it. Their also a local pub the other way, although we didn't eat their the food did look lovely. We will most definitely be returning, hopefully when the weather is a little warm then we can enjoy prosecco in the courtyard garden. The owners also kept in contact and were their at the end of the phone should we of needed anything, the nice little text the day before we where going to say we could stay on a little longer and not to rush leaving was so nice as we didn't want to! Not always possibly though! We stay in lots of cottages all over the UK and this is one of the nicest!

A handy base to explore the Cleveland Way and the coast.. Great beach walks to Redcar and Saltburn. Excellent bus services for Middlesbrough, Redcar, Saltburn, Staithes, Whitby, Guisborough, etc. On National Cycle Route 1. A pretty, refurbished cottage with helpful local owners. It is in a narrow street with limited parking, but we didn't find this any problem.
