Area Hayfield is a rural village resting just north of the Peak District National Park, popular with walkers due to it's distance to Kinder Scout moorland plateau and nature reserve, experienced ramblers can venture up Kinder Plateau, Pennine Way and Snake Path, and more relaxing walks can be found at Sett Valley Trail towards New Mills. Not far is the village and civil parish of Edale, a starting point for the Penine Way, boasting a selection of shops, pubs, restaurants and close to attractions such as the Goyt Valley in Castle. Also close is the spa town of Buxton where tourists can visit a whole host of cultural attractions.
