North Lodge does not disappoint.. Beautiful, spotless and well maintained house in the most immaculate and attractive gardens I’ve seen at a holiday let. Add to that the most comfortable beds you can imagine and our break was perfection!!!

The quality of the property with its large garden.. Top quality kitchen and appliances. Loads of table games, TVs videos and DVDs. The number and variety of birds attracted to feed in the garden by the feeders were amazing to watch. Easily the best holiday property we have ever stayed in

We only had a week's stay at North Lodge but could easily have stayed longer.. The house and garden do not disappoint. Décor was in keeping with the house and the high quality added to the comfortable and warming atmosphere that you feel as soon as you step through the door. We had two dogs staying with us and can confirm that the garden is a safe and secure place for them to be out and about in. Great walks on the doorstep. The garden terrace was an excellent place for enjoying a pre-dinner drink whilst the large grass area was used for football and croquet (we made up our own rules so have a go for a laugh). Overall would recommend North Lodge as both the house and host, Carolyn, played their own parts in giving us a relaxed and most welcome break.

Thank you for the opportunity to stay in your lovely house in Brydekirk.. When our children & grandchildren were with us for the weekend they enjoyed playing in the garden - despite the cold and windy showers.  On one good afternoon we all managed to play 'beat the goalie' and rounders...what fun! They also enjoyed some of the many games you have in the house. I don't think I have ever stayed in a house that was so well-stocked with things to do indoors. My personal challenge was to complete the Downton Abbey jigsaw which I managed just 5 minutes before leaving...the last piece had escaped onto the floor unnoticed. For me, the most relaxing feature of the week was just looking out to the garden (where we were lucky enough to see a red squirrel nibbling at the bird feeder one morning) and relaxing on the bench at the top garden when the sun came out. My husband had the chance to go fishing on the Annan and at a local fishery so he was in his element. North Lodge is so spacious, well fitted out and comfortable that we could have lingered longer very happily. However, we were there in very strange times as the coronovirus began to take hold, with shops, offices and schools closing during our stay. Nevertheless, we would thoroughly recommend this house to our family and friends and we wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

The house was large and roomy.. The weather was atrocious but the stay was probably the best of all our previous Sykes cottages (5+) around the UK. The reason was the combination of the feeling of cosy luxury, games of all types available for all ages, and a beautiful kitchen/dining room conservatory to watch all the weather could do (snow, sleet and heavy rain) while tucked up inside. Oh and Carolyn is a wonderful and helpful host who wants nothing but your happiness!

I could talk for a month of sundays about this property! We used this cottage / booking as a base for my family for our wedding in Gretna. The house is just undescribably amazing in every way. This is my dream home and would so love to be able to call this property mine. It is beautiful through and through and every little finish has been completed to a high standard. Everything you could ever need in the house is provided by default and or has been thought about. The host's property made it magical and brought my family and new closer to together. The host was very hospitable for us and I couldnt recomend her any more than i could. She is a wonderful lady and I know me and the family will be looking to re-book again for our next visit to scotland. This is now likely to be a yearly recurring event. Dream grounds, dream house, its just exceptional. This cottage will remain in our memories for a life changing event. Simply wonderful. PS - the photos dont do it justice! Thanks Scott & Mel

Our stay at north lodge was fabulous.. Everyone had the most amazing time. The lodge is beautiful and has everything you would ever need. We are already talking about planning another visit in the future. The pictures don’t do the lodge justice, it is huge and the beds and sofas are super comfortable. Carolyn is the perfect host who would do anything for you. We were there for our wedding at Gretna green and the bottle of prosecco and mini gins were a lovely thought. I would definitely recommend this to anyone. All ages would enjoy the lodge and surrounding areas. The pub across the bridge is also a must, lovely staff and they do a coffee morning on Thursdays with home made cakes

This was our fourth visit to North Lodge and once again we had a fabulous holiday.. The weather was dreadful but we didn't care, we took full advantage of this beautiful house and all it has to offer. It really is our favourite holiday cottage and we are looking forward to our next visit in 2020. It was lovely to see Carolyn again, she is lovely and so helpful. We highly. recommend this delightful house. Ken and Gillian Baker.

Beautiful, well equipped house.. Excellent facilities for dogs. The garden is fabulous and fully enclosed, my dogs had ample space to run around and there are beautiful walks right outside the gate. The local towns and people are extremely friendly.. This is our second visit. As soon as we got home last year we booked up for this year. Highly recommend.

Wow what a fantastic place, the cottage had everything you needed and more, definitely the best place we've stopped in to date, the garden is huge and secure the dogs loved it.. Carolyn the owner couldn't of been more helpful with advice of things to do and places to go we've already booked up to go back it's definitely worth the 5 star from sykes.

The only problem with this cottage is that it is too good.. We have stayed in 30-40 cottages & this one is easily the best. Any other cottage we book now will have to match this one which will be very difficult. The garden is fantastic. Our two German Shepherds, Bonnie & Clyde, had a great time running around the very large garden. The house is really well appointed with no expense spared. Lovely living area with a large fire, massive kitchen/dining area & lovely bedrooms. There was every utensil you could wish to use. This would be an ideal place for children. A safe garden for them to explore (including football nets), lots of indoor games, Play Station, Xbox, DVDs & books. There is a lovely walk along the river Arran from the doorstep. Within about half an hours drive there are lovely walks in The Forest of Ae, Mabie forest & a walk up the Grey Mare's tail waterfall , near Moffatt, is particularly beautiful. We met the owner, Carolyn, who is one of the nicest people you could expect to meet. She was very welcoming & was available if you had any problems (which we didn't have) or wanted some advise about the local area. If you are undecided about booking this cottage, don't be, because you will not be disappointed. David, Kate, Bonnie & Clyde.

Thoroughly enjoyed the the spacious house.. It was more than expected, everything catered for. Lovely home from home with an exceptionally big garden. Great surrounding areas for dog walking. Carolyn was great at making sure were well looked after and only a phone call away if needed. Well done everyone concerned had a fab time. Hope to return in the near future.

North Lodge is a fabulous self-catering place to stay on the outskirts of Annan. The house is more like a home-from-home and far exceeded our expectations despite us having read the excellent reviews and viewed the lovely photos - North Lodge is five star accommodation in a five star setting; the furnishings and facilities are top quality, this is not your usual holiday let believe me. The bedrooms are spacious, each has a very comfy king bed with beautiful decor and soft furnishings. A full bathroom and separate shower room provide ample use for a family. Plenty of home comforts provided including a bottle of Prosecco (we were celebrating our wedding anniversary, thanks Carolyn, a lovely touch). Our 2 doggies had a fun time out in the huge, safely enclosed garden and we took regular walks along the River Annan which flows right by the house, simply perfect setting. We cannot fault North Lodge nor the personal touch and service we had from Carolyn. We will definitely be returning, no question.

The house is very spacious with a huge garden.. The delight is the sound of the river flowing right outside your window. The welcome basket of goodies was a lovely touch and the games and activities included were perfect for our children of all ages. very clean, super comfy and a great location for exploring Scotland.

We booked North Lodge for 18-25th November as I got married at Gretna Green and it had capacity for 10 so we could have our guests with us. We arrived on the Saturday afternoon to an amazing house. It was spotless and it was huge. Plenty of space to spread out and lots of local pamphlets provided for the local area. A few local alcohol miniatures helped too!! The garden was amazing, especially in the morning at first light. The village it's in is a sleepy little village but I would recommend it totally as it was a ideal spot for some peace. The owner Carolyn couldn't do enough for us, anything we wanted to know she messaged straight back and she's a wealth of knowledge of the area. And thank you for the special visit we had from Carolyn with a bottle of champagne on our wedding day-you made our week and we will definitely be back!!!

North Lodge is a beautiful place to stay. It has everything you could possibly need and more. The grounds are fantastic and location is idyllic situated next to the river. It had fantastic walks from the doorstep. The owner was extremely welcoming on arrival. I will definitely be recommending North Lodge to friends and will hopefully return again myself.
