Property Description

Ashford in the Water is a picture postcard, popular Derbyshire village, located in the heart of the Peak District National Park. Indulge in the restful surroundings alongside the River Wye and the Sheepwash Bridge. There is mile upon mile of beautiful footpaths to explore from the village. Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall are both within 6 miles, alternatively, you could meander through the shops and cafes of Bakewell (3 miles), home to a weekly market and the renowned Bakewell Pudding. Its twin spa town, Buxton, is 14 miles away and offers a lively arts scene including an opera house, while the Monsal Dale (2 miles) is a beautiful destination where you can enjoy the outstanding scenery on foot. Stepping into this cosy beamed cottage: full of character and with an open plan lounge/kitchen/diner, you will instantly feel at home. The lounge offers comfy sofas to flop down on after a day hiking the hills, where you can relax and watch TV. There is a dining table that comfortably seats four and the kitchen space offers everything you need to rustle up a meal during your stay, such as an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge and washer/dryer. Wander through to the sunroom which overlooks the courtyard and is wonderfully light and bright offering comfy seating to unwind with good company, and feel like you are outside, whatever the weather. Head up the metal spiral staircase and you will find a king size bedroom with lovely views over the village green. There is a further double bedroom and a bathroom with a bath and attachment for shower and WC. Please note, there is restricted head height in the bathroom affecting the shower and also on part of the landing. Heading outside, there is an enclosed courtyard to the rear of the cottage with a table and seating providing a lovely spot to sit and enjoy the fresh air. There is roadside parking to the front of the cottage (subject to availability).
