The property is situated within easy reach of the Derbyshire village of Ashford in the Water, which sits on the banks of the river Wye, north of Bakewell. With its medieval Sheepwash Bridge as its focal point, the village is full of character and includes a well stocked village shop and pub. Walkers will enjoy exploring the contrasting scenery of the higher and wilder Dark Peak in the north and the gently rolling limestone dales of White Peak in the south. A low dry stone wall borders this pretty property, which is entered into the sitting area. With a vaulted ceiling, exposed king post oak beams and double aspect windows, this is a striking and inviting room. The adjoining kitchen is equally as special, with its high ceilings, floorboards, light cabinets and pretty splash back tiles, plus a good sized dining table. Perhaps the most spectacular ceiling of all is found in the bedroom, with its exposed timber trusses and beamed vaults. From the cream cast iron bed, guests can enjoy looking out to the rolling fields beyond, before preparing for the day ahead in the shower room next door. Outside, a patio area offers a private space in which to relax on the bench or at the table, while the shared stone walled garden is a lovely grassed area ideal for dogs.
