October 2020
Heathcliffe Lodge was perfect in every way; modern, clean, comfortable with all the luxuries you could imagine.. Our welcome hamper including bubbly and chocolates was a really special touch and much appreciated. It is the ideal place to relax and enjoy the county side with lovely views from the hot tub. Cliff is the 'host with the most' and greeted us on our arrival. We had our 4 year old daughter with us so he gave us tips on lots of great places to take her. He even gave us a guided tour of his farm and let her feed the goats and meet the brand new chicks in the barn, a trip we would have paid good money for. We will definitely be coming back, thank you.

The lodge was amazing, very comfy and beautiful.. our young children loved it as soon as they walked in. the farm was lovely too and again the girls loved going to feed the goats every day. Cliff (the owner) was so lovely, he told the girls all about the animals. it was so peaceful and just beautiful. can’t wait to go back again.

The place was lovely.. The setting was really peaceful and just what we needed as a change of scenery for the family. Cliff was super friendly and helpful but not at all intrusive. We all really enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again.

This holiday cottage was superb, the only issue that had failed to meet my expectations was it was advertised with a BBQ, yet no barbecue was available.. There was strictly no pets aloud yet animals roaming free in and out of cottages without signs advising. Some of the people staying in the cottages were allergic to dogs.

Great location, very friendly owner who made sure everything was good for us.. Lovely welcome basket, high quality accommodation, very clean and well presented. So many great places to visit within an hours drive from the lodge, but comfortable enough to just chill and spend your time there.

Our stay at Heathcliff Lodge was perfect weather was great.. Lovely comfortable lodge surrounding countryside was beautiful.Cliff the owner suggested places to visit and places to eat which we did. The Forbidden Corner is a great place for kids and adults alike also Mountpark Farm featured on The Yorkshire Vet tv series was good for kids.Visits to local towns and markets were also great with lovely places for afternoon tea. All in all a great stay and grandson Jamie looked forward to Maxwell (the dog) visit every morning also visits to see the Alpacas and Reas. Would certainly recommend and go again. The Nimmo family. East Lothian. Scotland.

Great lodge with everything you need and more.. Cliff, the owner is very friendly and helpful, suggesting several great places to visit. There is a review on here about the shower, i'm just over 6 foot and had no problems with the height of the shower. Would definately stay here again.

It definitely had the WOW factor set in lovely well maintained grounds overlooking fields in a quiet and secluded area.. Easy check in and collection of keys and a lovely welcome pack. Close to amenities only a short drive. Cliff was very knowledgeable of local area and welcoming what a great guy. The lodge was fantastic and the children loved the hot tub, a very safe environment for children. All the little extra touches really makes this a relaxing and comfortable stay finished to a high standard. As for Maxwell (the farm dog) what a lovely welcome each day so well behave grat with children. We only went for a long weekend over Easter and will definitely be returning as this was not long enough. A huge thank you to cliff for making us feel so welcome.

Nice place, owner was friendly, however failed to tell us that we should take the plastic duck out of the hot tub while in the hot tub as this held the chlorine tablets for the hot tub.. not knowing this my wife's skin reacted badly to the chlorine. Shower looked great on pictures but if your over 6ft like me then it meant i had to sit down in it to use it - not ideal. heating didn't work in the master bedroom or en suite but as only there for 4 days didn't see the need to raise this. I would like to state that this place advertised as not allowing dogs which is great as i am very allergic to dog hairs but was surprised to see what i can only presume was the owners dog running around the site trying to get into the lodges and would randomly appear at your window on the terrace. From the pictures Heathcliff lodge at the front looks like the balcony terrace is enclosed which i though was great for my small kids meaning i could allow them out thinking they would be enclosed but that was not the case, it was only enclosed on 2 sides. Based on the above points id give this place 7/10

The lodge was lovely.. It was warm and the beds were super comfortable. The hot tub was great at the end of a days walking and was in quite a secluded area. Cliff left a welcome basket which was greatly received and he was very welcoming and offered some places to visit. Max the dog was super cute and seeing the llama and rheas made my daughter's day. Although it is a farm, it was very quiet and sitting on the deck watching the sunset was relaxing. We would definitely go back again.

I cannot recommend this lodge highly enough! Cliff (the host) was very welcoming and accommodating and it was rather lovely to have the company of his dog of an evening. The lodge itself was beyond expectation and felt very homely. The hot tub was simply divine after a long day of exploring the local area. I would highly recommend this lodge to a small family, or for a romantic getaway. You will not be disappointed. We will definitely visit again!

Loved the whole week in Heathcliff Lodge the views from the lodge and the hot tub were amazing so tranquil and peaceful, the lodge itself was well equipped with everything we could need and more.. Its a shame the shower was out of action, but Cliff offered us alternative accommodation with a working shower. But we had already settled into Heathcliff lodge and loved it and there is a lovely bath to enjoy.. Cliff is a lovely host who regularly stopped by for a chat and is full of ideas on places to visit and things to do. Max the dog was also a welcome visitor coming and sitting outside with his guests for a while . If its a completely relaxing break you need and want to recharge your battery's, we can highly recommend this beautiful holiday.

Excellent lodge, all facilities perfect no problems at all.. Wifi and hot tub great. Rained for most of our stay but still managed to use the hot tub every evening. Cliff very informative about the area, lodge etc and very pleasant to deal with. His dog, Max, came for a visit each day. Welcome pack was an absolute bonus - best we've ever had - the bottle of fizz was the perfect company in the hot tub :)

Had a fantastic holiday and was sad to leave. The lodge is easy to find set on a working farm and is secluded and private. The lodge is luxury with every detail thought about so it really is a home from home. The shower was amazing and everything is provided included washing machine facilities. The underfloor heating is a good touch. Very modern and homely. Cliff the owner is lovely and helpful and his dog Maxwell visited us everyday much to my girls delight. We were in the hot tub every night. Amazing places to visit such as Forbidden corner and Richmond. We will be returning again as we had a awesome time.

Had a lovely week at Heathcliff lodge, was very easy to find, good location for exploring the moors & the dales.. Enjoyed some winter sunshine. The lodge was warm & cozy. Met by Cliff on arrival who was full of ideas of places to go, places to eat & how to get to them all. Loved the fab shower, amazing, I now want one at home. Welcome pack was a lovely touch & not forgetting the best bit our daily visits from Max, who looked especially cute after his haircut. Would recommend the lodge to anyone looking to book.

We had the most fantastic week in the lodge. So easy to find and pick up the keys. We loved all the attention to detail. It really has the wow factor in abundance. Very high end accommodation for such a good price. They had everything you needed and more, great little drying room for the washing, underfloor heating, each room temperature controlled. It was great for our children aged 10 and 2.5. The hot tub was heaven! Cliff was such a great host. Thank you so much for an amazing week!

Great stay! Bed and sofa a little too soft for our liking so we sat at the table for most of the week. Great hot tub, not as private as we thought it would be. Great owner, lovely dog. We can not fault much, as most of the stay was amazing!! Already looking at holidays for next year with Sykes!!

We arrived just after 3, collected keys from self-service key safe (brilliant idea). Easy to find with good instructions provided. Cottage was impeccably clean. All fit and finishings were modern and in tip-top condition. Clearly maintained with a lot of (well deserved) pride. It had all the mod cons we could need for a week away. The lodge itself was very sizeable, with each room on it's own thermostat with underfloor heating. Although made of timber, it was exceptionally well insulated, and a loud TV in the living area was inaudible from the master bedroom with the doors closed. All in all, a beautiful and luxurious living environment. But also practically thought out, and luxurious without being pretentious. There's none of that nerve-destroying-white-carpets throughout thing going on here, you walk in onto a tiled floor in the hallway and can drop muddy boots straight into the utility room, and there's a full set of polycarbonate glasses to sup from when using the hot tub. It's properly usable luxury and feels homely. The lodge feels nicely secluded, and is on a stretch of beautiful, arable farmland. The hot tub is very private and not overlooked. Soaking in the hot tub at night under the stars and/or light drizzle was blissful. When we went there I had been through a hellish couple of months at work. My skin had gone to pot, and I was suffering chronic sciatica. By the end of our stay my back felt fine, my skin had cleared up, and I felt as well and relaxed as I can remember feeling in years. Even my wife, who has chronic PTSD and suffers very bad agoraphobia when she leaves the house, felt safe and relaxed there. In short, we both found Heathcliff Lodge to be as close to perfection as we could have hoped for. We cannot get over how good value it was (would have been 2-3x that price down our end in the Cotswolds) and will be booking again soon to return next year. It really was that good.

Our holiday was brilliant.. The location was good with an exceptionally warm welcome from Clifford and Max (the dog). The week went all too quickly and certainly didn't want to return home. The cabin is extremely well equipped and the hot tub and outside furniture made the holiday more special. We would recommend it to everyone.

We arrived at Heathcliff Lodge to a lovely welcome by Cliff, the owner and his two dogs Maxwell and Sam who are very friendly Maxwell would later come and visit us most days as we sat on the decking . When you arrive follow the signs for cornfield lodge as Heathcliff is not signposted yet, so parking is in the same place as cornfield which is next door. The welcome pack was a real treat and the amazing rain-forest shower that had different water jets and very large fluffy towels made us feel very special. The beds were so comfortable and the lodge had lovely views. The hot tub was a treat everything was spotless and comfortable. There was plenty of washing/dishwasher tablets and toilet rolls so no need to bring your own. Northallerton is a very central place with loads of places to visit and things to do. Will defiantly be back

Two couples stayed in this lodge for a week and wow what a lovely place. We were welcomed by Cliff, the owner and his two dogs Maxwell and Sam who are very friendly and very well behaved. The lodge was beautiful and Cliff showed us how to operate everything. The welcome pack was lovely and included a bottle of sparkling wine and chocolates. Cliff was very helpful with suggestions on places to visit and to eat. The lodge had everything that you would need including an amazing shower that had led lights, different water jets including a waterfall feature. The beds were so comfortable and i didnt want to get out each morning. The views are beautiful. The hot tub was lovely to sit in at the end of each day overlooking the fields and watching the sunset. The lodge is about 20-30 minute walk into Northallerton which is a nice walk. Will definitely go back again.
