Whilst this holiday cottage had plenty of positives such as location, size, equipment etc, it was let down by several issues that should have been addressed before our arrival. There was a nasty sewer smell emanating from the downstairs shower room, the smell permeated right through the downstairs area including the dining room. Several items needed repair such as the kitchen extractor and the bathroom toilet seat. The outside seat collapsed when sitting, found that one back leg was 3" less than the other 3 legs; only the wall saved it from toppling right over. Without these issues it would have been a lovely place to stay.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at 'The Barn'.. ... it was like walking into our own home as everything was provided for and was easy to use / understand. We will definitely be staying there in the future as it was also in an ideal location for walking / sight seeing.

A very well equipped property and spacious.. We didn’t feel that it was sufficiently clean especially with Covid . We washed the floor on arrival and the water was filthy. There was so much stuff in the cupboards I’m sure they weren’t all dishwasher cleaned before our arrival.

We stayed in the same house last year and really loved it for its location and facilities.. There is plenty of room for grandparents and our daughter, her husband and 2 grandchildren. The mezzanine lounge is ideal and a good kitchen and the jacuzzi type bath is very popular and it works well. The whole place is very convenient to stay in and we just love it really and may rebook for next year as convenient for our favourite walks. Malham. Ingelton Waterfalls and one of the 3 peaks. My wife enjoys shopping in Booths and it is near enough to Skipton for fish and chips any Bizzie Lizzie's restaurant. The extra restrictions due to the virus did not effect us very much and we were able to find places to eat for lunch with little problem and even went on the Worth Valley Railway having pre-booked. A lovely relaxing time for everyone

With regards to the cottage itself, an idea would be to provide sufficient logs to last the weekend,3 nights.. Obviously the cost would be added to the rent. Also a coal scuttle was provided with a small covering of coal on the bottom? Was it meant to be full? Although the cottage info did say that logs would be provided for the first night only, we therefore brought our own supply, also coal, which just means more to carry in the car. Anyway please give it some thought, im sure we aren't the first ones to mention this. Overall we really enjoyed the cottage.

The cottage was probably the best we have ever rented in Yorkshire.. It was roomy, with lots of areas for relaxing, a good kitchen, comfortable beds and the wonderful jacuzzi type bath which everyone enjoyed, especially the grandchildren. The furnishing were god and the whole layout and design was very interesting and well thought out. we enjoyed it immensely and felt at home and relaxed from the first minutes. It is very well located for Settle and so of our favourites walks, Malham Cove, Ingleton water falls and the three peaks and we climbed Whernside this year. Not too far from Hawes and Skipton, just very good and we would recommend it highly and may well try and book it again for next year.

Had a wonderful weekend .. House was lovely, spacious, clean with everything we needed. Would love to return in the summer, surrounding scenery was beautiful. Later check out time would have been nice, all a bit of a rush on a Sunday morning & cut the weekend short . Otherwise all good, thank you!

This quirky yet large and comfortable property was ideally situated with the added advantage of being close to the pub as well as being handy for many of the main points of interest in the area.. It offered warmth and comfort making it ideal for a winter break - with plenty room for storage of wet weather gear. The two storey central feature dining room was a plus as was the two bathrooms and bedroom mix that offered a fine degree of separation at bedtime when occupied by a group. In terms of recommendations perhaps- 1 Some comfortable seating in the dining area would help families to have slightly different space at certain times of the day. 2 Vehicular access and egress is a little tight - particularly for large cars. I would add however that neither of these items spoiled our enjoyment.

Excellent cottage and great facilities, very cosy.. In a good location for walking, cycling and sightseeing. Very good village pub within easy walking distance. Carpets could do with updating.

We thoroughly enjoyed our week at Haworth Barn.. The property is quirky and very well equipped. The information provided both on the Sykes' site and at the house as accurate and useful. Beds were comfortable, everything was spotless, we loved the location (there is road noise during the week from about 5.45am but it didn't worry me and I've never lived anywhere noisy and am not used to it), were lucky enough to see salmon leaping the Foss, enjoyed the food at the local pub and all in all, had a great time. We varied in number from 4 to 8 and there was plenty of space for people to do their own thing. Having somewhere comfortable to sit downstairs would make this even better.

We booked this cottage through "Sykes Cottages" and it was the sixth time that we had used them, but unfortunately we were a little disappointed by this Barn.On our arrival I had to replace several bulbs (including two in the electric fire) we noticed a stain in the carpet, the toilet holder missing from one bathroom and neither extractor fan worked, sadly the barn looked like it needed a good clean as there were cobwebs in every room. The outside dustbins were in a disgusting state of cleanliness and sadly it felt like the owners weren't keeping a close eye on the maintenance/cleaning of the other wise relaxing holiday Cottage. The bed in the upstairs double bedroom was "amazing" the most comfortable we have every experienced in a holiday let, there were several good walks from the door and 5 minutes walk away was the Craven Heifer, which we would recommend. Sadly though this is one holiday rental that we wouldn't recommend.

We have used Sykes cottages for many years and this time were a little disappointed with the cleanliness the cottage felt a little end of season and we are not sure if that was because the owner did not live near so the cleaning was not checked.. Carpets were a little stained, bulbs were not working, extractor fans did not work in either bathroom, cobwebs lots of small things that we had not come across in other cottages we have stayed at. The situation of the cottage was amazing surrounded by the beautiful Yorkshire countryside, many lovely walks right on your doorstep. The local pub serviced good quality food with a welcome smile but again a little disappointed that the nearest shop was over 3 miles away in Settle when advertised it was less than a mile away. Overall our stay was lovely just a few small things could have made it better.

Haworth Barn is a unique and wonderful building in the perfect location for exploring the area.. The view from the lounge acriss the dales is a perfect backdrop. We came with 2 kids and grandparents and it was everything we had hoped for. The local pub is great and serves excellent food, and there are some great walks direct from the village. We would recommend it without hesitation

A lovely cottage to stay in and very well equipped.. A lovely big upstairs lounge with plenty of seating and the jacuzzi bath is an added bonus, just the thing after being out walking all day. Stainforth an ideal base for walking and touring. would definitely stay there again.

May 2018
The barn was exceptionally spacious and we loved the fact that there was room to ‘loose’ yourself, ie the sun lounge, the snug, the huge lounge, with amazing views, dining areas and even the garden.. It was also extremely well equipped in the kitchen and we had everything we required. (Only thing lacking was a larger cafetière, or better still a coffee maker!) The only negative comment ( as a party of 6 adults) would be one of the mattresses in the twin room, but for children it would have been absolutely fine. Big bonus was location for amazing walks and accessibility to pub within walking distance. We loved it and may very well return, either as the same group or with our family. Great holiday let with much to offer.

Six of us stayed at the barn - the accommodation is in a beautiful setting with stunning views from the picture window.. The barn is very spacious and extremely well equipped making for a very enjoyable and relaxing stay. Lovely quiet village with friendly pub and scenic walks. Perfect!

Wonderful cottage and beautiful location.. Very comfortable and had all we needed. One tip - the 4th bedroom is a sofabed in the snug room that has a skylight in it. During the lighter days the room fills up with light very early in the morning which can disturb sleep. If there was a facility of shutting of the light with the blind it would make the cottage perfect.

The barn is set in its own grounds with a spectacular view from the living room and not far from a great local pub and many walks.. Beds were comfy and loved the quirky make up of the barn. Great for our family week including 10 to 81 year olds.

Amazing cottage and location.. If you want a relaxing few days with stunning scenery and a beautiful clean cottage then visit here.

March 2018
Lovely property in a great location.. Access to more fire wood and coal would have ensured the property was kept warm as the central heating is not adequate enough for the size of the building and the starter pack of coal and logs only lasted 1 night on a cold and wet weekend in March. I would recommend this property for location and the fantastic food served at the local pub - but only during warmer weather.

This was the second time we have stopped here this year and once again it was brilliant we were a family party of 8 and we planned to have an early Christmas together as due to circumstances we wouldn't be together on the day itself. It was the perfect 5 days to chill out, have a lovely Christmas dinner and a couple of trips to the Craven Heifer (which is under new management and is a 100% better!). The facilities are great, there is ample room for 8 people and there is everything you could wish for in the kitchen. We will definitely be booking again for the new year as we felt so comfortable and relaxed that it was a struggle to go home!

June 2017
Stayed for a week, very well equipped place with lovely views, this holiday let stands on its own next to a main road, not busy and very quiet at night, the church across the road chimes on the hour from about 8am but it wasn't annoying, inside is spectacular, 2 stairways, 1 that gave it it's name is from Haworth Church where the Bronte sisters father served, there is a large kitchen also well equipped, there are 3 bedrooms but also a pull out bed under the stairs which can be sectioned off and private, the bed I stayed in was quite soft, I prefer a harder mattress, but all in all a very nice place and well worth the visit.
