Gormire Cottage is a fantastic base for exploring the picturesque North Yorkshire countryside.

On the fringes of the North York Moors National Park to the east and Yorkshire Dales National Park to the west, the town of Thirsk is well-placed for discovering the magnificent Yorkshire countryside. Thirsk offers a market place, a Norman church and a good selection of pubs, shops and restaurants, as well as a cinema and a leisure centre. Visit the World of James Herriott Museum, dedicated to the life and works of the town’s own famous vet and author or explore the surrounding rolling countryside and Hambleton Hills, offering excellent walking opportunities.
