October 2020
Really dog friendly, owners let you use their 7 acres to walk your dog.. The owner even made the effort to mow the edges of the fields. Such a great place fully equipped with very helpful friendly owners who were on hand if needed.

Had a great time, cottage was a bit cold when we arrived but the log fire warmed it nicely once we got it lit.. Also some brochures on places of interest would have helped. Highly recommend the local butcher, best sausage and steak I've had. Would come to this cottage again.

A brilliant few days away, Julie and Stuart made us feel very welcome and even got the log burner going for us on our first night.. I was just what we needed.

The cottage was beautifully appointed, a real labour of love! It was very comfortable and clean, in a charming, peaceful location on the owner's farm in the beautiful Shropshire countryside. It was conveniently close to amenities and also walking routes. We had a lovely, relaxed and peaceful few days and we'll definitely be back! My dog loved our early morning wanders up the lane. Thank you to our friendly and helpful hosts especially when my car tyres needed checking!

The Sat Nav using the postcode doesn’t take you to the property which can be a little confusing especially when you arrive in the dark and are looking for it but upon (finally) arriving you aren’t disappointed.. The property is very secure. You’ve a track to drive down but once you reach the buildings all you can say is wow. When we walked into ours and seen the open view bedroom and grand fireplace we settled in with the log fire burning. Stunning home with lots of character. The beds are really comfortable. The gap between the shower and wall is a little narrow for bigger people like myself but I managed to squeeze passed and enjoyed a lovely power shower. Would absolutely recommend and would return again. Thank you x

Yes please.. We really liked the cottage, although we weren't impressed by the lack of supplies there when we arrived. By this l mean- No toilet rolls,no kitchen roll,no dishwasher tablets, very little washing-up liquid and very little handwash liquid in the kitchen, and one spare bin liner for the kitchen bin! We were also a towel short, which apparently the cleaner had noted earlier. The owner soon provided us with that, along with one(!) toilet roll-there were four of us staying there! I felt awkward having to ask for the extra towel and a toilet roll as soon as we had arrived, but the cottage is not exactly close to a shop! As we have previously stayed in one of your properties with everything left fully stocked,we hadn't brought much with us. Were we just lucky last time,or just unlucky this time? Needless to say we could have brought these items from home,if we had known the situation. Perhaps someone there would be good enough to send a reply in case we want to book another holiday through yourselves in the future? Thanking you in advance.

This is one of those places you want to keep to your self so no one else can book it ! Absolutely stunning in every way; from the friendliness of the owners to the perfectly equipped kitchen, comfortable bed and tasteful décor - this cottage is outstanding. What a wonderful location in a beautiful part of our Country; we had a most relaxing and enjoyable break. No negative points at all - everything was perfect.

Just returned from a very relaxing break.. . after moving house we needed some family chill time and this cottage just hit the spot. Very quirky little cottage clean and comfy.. we loved the log burner and my husband enjoyed waching the night skies whilst sitting around the outdoor fire pit. We had custard the pony to greet us every morning and a little pug from the owner that would visit which my daughter loved.. our dog was also happy as we had lovely walks with him.. a gated farm so we all felt safe.. the owners house was lite up at night with fairy lights which looked stunning. . Very friendly owners gave us logs for the fire pit and greeted us.. although we had a very private place to ourselves.. came back all refreshed thank you ..will be back!!!

Although the weather wasn't very good we enjoyed the peace and quiet and the wood stove was the best thing we could have had..

August 2017
The WiFi did not work at all during our stay which made it hard to search for places to visit.. Be aware there is no mobile phone signal at the cottage, calls have to be made when out and about. This aside, we could not fault the property.

July 2017
The cottage was lovely. Unfortunately the owner decided to do some heavy digging and compacting ground work outside the cottage for the last few days of our stay. it was very noisy and we could not sit outside. The weather for the last couple of days was poor which meant we couldn't sit anyway? Sykes Cottages who we booked with didn't seem to have a dedicated complaint system and we had to chase them up continually. We were offered a paltry sum for the inconvenience but that didn't make up for the spoilt holiday. Be careful when you book with this company and ask about any work that may be going on. Will never book with them again they are only interested in the owners and not the customer who is booking.

November 2016
A well equipped cottage with the biggest bed I have ever slept in. You could chase the wife round it all night without catching her. The WiFi was a bit iffy to start with but got better when the owner fixed it and from then on we got good reception. The cottage is some distance from the nearest pub or shops. Shrewsbury is worth a visit. There are walks in the adjacent fields and on the quiet lane next to the cottage. The one big problem is when I decided to walk in the fields next to the lane. A rather pompous and quite officious person told me it was his land
Mr Gardner, December 2016
November 2016
The cottage was lovely and the owners were really friendly but also gave you your privacy.. The location was perfect for where we wanted to visit. My husband loved it so much he wants to live there permanently! Have recommended it to friends and will return.

Mr and Mrs Parker were brill my 8 year old son was ill one day and they were very great with us and helped us out.. The cottage was amazing and provided everything you would need and a washing machine was fantastic as it was well needed on our wet muddy days! Great facilities, fantastic owners would highly recommend. It was very easy to book through sykes too.
Mr Thomson, August 2016
August 2016
A lovely cottage in a beautiful quiet location.. Lots of attractions to see in the area. Wi-fi pretty non existent so don't feel this property should be advertised as having wi-fi. Wasn't a huge problem but hampered us in our research for finding dog friendly places to visit.

We chose this cottage as we were looking for a pet friendly place and also required facilities on the ground floor, it was perfect on both counts. The downstairs bedroom has an enormous bed, with very comfortable bedding, there is also another double bed on a mezzanine level, the cottage would suit 4 people comfortably It was only refurbished a few years ago and they have completed it very tastefully and it is a beautifully decorated comfy cottage. It is located on the owners land, in front of their house, but you have plenty of privacy, the cottage overlooks a field where there are 2 delightful horses, who enjoyed there daily treats. There are 2 areas to sit and relax outside, with seating provided in both places, it is a great sun trap, perfect in the evening for chilling with a glass of wine The location is within driving distance to many local towns, and the Ironbridge Gorge and museums Overall a lovely cottage that we will return too.

A nice secluded property with a lovely cottage feel. We loved the well in the garden and the fire pit with a seating area. It was close enough to town for the shops whilst far away enough to have that great countryside feeling. There were plenty of quiet lanes to walk the dog.

We had a fantastic weeks stay at Strine View Cottage along with our dog. The owners where incredibly helpful and had built and equipped the cottage perfectly. We chose this place as it looked so lovely from the photos but they actually didn't do it the justice it deserves. Staying away in the autumn sometimes means a lot of time indoors so the big comfy sofas and a wood burner were just the ticket. The mezzanine bedroom was also a great feature and the cottage felt so spacious. We had plans to visit places near Stafford, Cheshire and even North Wales and the great location allowed us to easily do so. On our return, we were often met by the owners friendly dog and had plenty of space to walk our dog, park the car and sit outside in one of the two seating areas when we had a rare bit of sunshine. Had it of been a different time of year, the available bar-b-que would have been great. The cottage was so quiet and well away from any road noise. There was everything we required and we had a lovely relaxing break which we really needed.
