Lovely cottage- so well equipped! We haven’t enjoyed a cottage as much as this one- we loved reading under blankets on the sofa after a long day out. Perfect location for us. Beds and towel provision surpassed expectations. Lovely little touches like some coffe/ tea/ milk and ice! Thank you! Will be back!

Lovely ,homely cottage in centre of village .. Thoughtful welcome pack ,flowers and spotlessly clean ,what more could you want .Parking permits while not used by us very helpful
Miss Bamber
March 2019
The accommodation was clean, comfy, warm and well equipped.. Good location, close to shops, pubs, beach etc. No parking outside property, but available not far away and the permit meant we didn't need to pay for parking in other places. Several phone calls to Sykes cottages, they apparently needed my email address. I gave it to 3 different people on 3 separate occasions. I didn't actually get sent any information until the third phone call when the chap I spoke to was very helpful.

Mrs Sykes
November 2018
The cottage was cosy, comfortable and clean.. The coffee ,tea biscuits and fresh flowers a lovely welcome. We were able to leave our car at the back of the cottage as a kind neighbour told us the adjacent cottage was unoccupied that week. The beds were very comfortable, this is not always the case in holiday rentals.
Mrs Pease
September 2018
Great cottage ,well stocked ,very clean and comfortable .. A welcome pack of tea ,coffee, milk , sugar and biscuits was appreciated as was a lovely jug of roses ,what a nice touch ! Brilliant location, near the harbour ,pubs and Hotels ,who all serve excellent food and drinks .A parking permit for one car in the main car park was very good as double yellow lines outside the cottage and in most of the streets .An excellent base for seeing the local area .Thoroughly enjoyed our week !

Stayed for 1 night. 3 bedrooms, very spacious lounge & kitchen with all utensils you may need. Would definitely revisit. A short walk away from the harbour but very quiet & peaceful in the cottage. I booked via booking.com however sykes were not reliable in sending key code. I rang 5 times until I finally got it.

Seahouses was a lovely place and so were the villages and islands near it ,the .... Seahouses was a lovely place and so were the villages and islands near it ,the cottage was a nice cottage but no garden at all and we kept the kitchen curtains closed because there were houses behind us so close, the parking was horrendous it was double yellow lines everywhere,we were told parking was nearby but it wasn’t it was a car park in the town because everyone else had all the spaces, cottage needs painting and new lounge carpet and sofas
Mr Hallas
May 2018
The biggest issue with this property is the parking.. Every other Cottage in this row have parking and we had to park in the town centre and pay an extra £49 for the privilege. On rainy days you were wet through before you set off for a day out, and got wet again on return. The Cottage itself was fine.
Mr Edwards

February 2018
Great cottage, close to town and the coast the only "issue" is lack of parking at the cottage but it is only a 5 min walk to the main carpark , rate £3.. 50 per day. Clean, very comfortable , everything we needed for a great break.
Mrs Wingrove

August 2016
A lovely cottage, great accommodation sleeping 6 comfortably. Everything was available but a shame the dishwasher wasn't working and the washing machine was quite old (took about 6 to 8 hours to dry the clothes in the tumble dryer.) However, the close proximity to the sea (2 min walk) outweighed these things and it was lovely to wander down every day to the harbour or across the golf links to a beautiful bay, usually deserted. Great for kids - rock pooling was amazing and the boat trip to the Farne Islands is a must. The one draw back of the cottage is that there is no parking. (double yellow lines everywhere). The suggestion is to use the town pay and display carpark and buy a weekly pass, but we discovered they don't do this any more so the daily cost would have been £3.50, adding an additional £24.50 to your stay. However, we managed to park at the top of the road on the main street every day where there are no double yellow lines, and we always found a space, so not a real problem unless you are carting lots of stuff back and forth. All in all a great stay in a beautiful location.
Mrs Chapman

October 2014
A well equipped cottage in a quiet street close enough to the village centre to not have to worry about the walk. No car parking close by but that didn't impact negatively on our stay. We just felt really comfortable there and hope to return.

August 2014
This property was just as described. It was very clean and tidy with all the facilities you would need. The property is well situated for getting into the town. The only minus point for it was the parking. Although a parking voucher was provided for the car park, the car park was a good 10 minutes walk away from the cottage. Other than this the cottage is everything you would want from a holiday let.
Mrs Tavener
July 2014
Wonderful location, lovely house. Plenty of crockery, cutlery - highly recommend.

February 2014
We were very pleased and impressed with Fisherman's Cottage - the pictures do not do it justice - we found it to be much more spacious than it looked. It was warm, cosy and lovely with excellent lighting. The bedrooms were spacious with lots of storage. The location was great too - 1 minute to the harbour. We hope to return and will definitely recommend to friends.

Inside very spacious sitting room, with sofa and table and chairs, lovely fire and flat screen tv... Kitchen fully equiped and fab... upstairs there is 3 bedrooms and 2 are double the other twin room... Nice bathroom but felt when 6 of us there was bit hard sorting when to use bathroom for shower etc.... but when some people went wasnt as bad... Apart from that we cant complain and would think about returning next year

September 2011
Well situated in the town and although it was a town it was very quiet and peaceful. Not what you would imagine if you live in or near a town yourself. The cottage was very clean and spacious with everything you could possibly need. the beach was no more than five minutes away which more than made up for the property having no outside area of its own.
Guest
August 2011
It was a really lovely cottage. immaculatly clean. Lovely cotton bedding and excellent kitchen contents. 2mins walk to the beach and the town. Parking was about £15 for the week in the town but you could park in nearby streets. Only downside was 1 bathroom and no outdoor space. Would be really nice if it had a solid fuel fire for the winter, excellent fish n chips in Seahouses.
Mrs Mccarthy

September 2010
The service was 1st class, my wife is disabled and on oxygen 24 hrs a day.Mrs Jackson ensured the delivery and collection of the oxygen. She showed concern over our well being during our stay. The cottage was excellent for our needs, nice and clean and tidy with ample room to cater for my wife's needs. The cottage was on the doorstep of all local amenities, two minutes and you where at the shops and in the evening to the night life. I can't fault our holiday as everything from the cottage to the amenities to the weather was all you could ask for.
Mrs Lambert

The accommodation was very central to Seahouses village and all local amenities. The cottage was clean, tidy and nicely presented with everything you require for a comfortable stay. I would definately come again. Only negative comment would be the parking. A neighbour has space for one car, otherwise you need to use public car parks.

Sykes cottage proved to be one of the nicest holiday rentals in which we have stayed. It is well equipped, spacious and comfortable. The location, althought seemingly in a small road of terraced cottages, proved to be exceptional with views of the Harbor, Bamburgh Castle and the Farned Islands being only one minutes walk away. Highly recommended.

The area did it for us and also the friendliness of the people. The Olde Ship serves excellent food and has a great atmosphere. A little further afield at Rennington, The Horseshoes Inn serves superb food also. We found most of the local establishments very dog friendly. The walks around the area give breathtaking views and are to be highly recommended.
Mrs Chapman

The cottage was lovely and has obviously been refurbished very recently. The location was very good as it was surrounded by beautiful scenery and the sunshine we enjoyed all week just finished the whole thing nicely.
