Brinkburn Priory, a restored Augustinian Priory in a very beautiful setting next to the River Coquet, is a pleasant, short trip away. The National Trust's Cragside House and Gardens are on the outskirts of Rothbury, and just 20 minutes' drive to the east is the Heritage Coast, which is home to a bevy of massive, historic castles and miles of golden sand beaches. Just 14 miles to the north, in the mediaeval town of Alnwick, you can spend a wonderful day with the whole family exploring the spectacular castle and garden. This location is ideal for exploring Northumberland or taking a rest because it is close to the breathtaking National Park.
