Mrs Scott-bates

The cottage was ideal for our cycling holiday, well situated for what we wanted to do.. Outside it looked a bit neglected, lawn needed cutting and general weeding, however hanging baskets were put up on our last day.
The microwave had instructions but it seemed to be very complicated compared to ours and we couldn't use it as it had so many buttons and all I wanted to do was reheat something! Sounds sad, but mine at home you just press one button for what you want to do.
Also the tin opener wasn't working properly so had to dig out tin of meat!
It was a bit confusing seeing a payment meter for the electric and then a relief to see the electric was included in the rental. Also the fact that the immersion heater needed to be switched on to activate the water heater under the sink wasn't too obvious.
Perhaps it could be mentioned that quilted loo rolls are not to be used as we found out on arrival - we'd taken some but some correct ones were provided but we had to replace them when used and had to ask in the shops what was suitable for use with a septic tank. This was on the helpful information sheets, but not on the website information.
Other than those little niggles, it was a lovely place to stay and pleasantly furnished, peaceful and everything was provided and well thought about. We'd stay there again if we were in that area.
