Lovely peaceful cottage, with walking on the door step, one and half mile to Grosmont walking, it also has easy walk to any of the local public houses all with good company and very hospitable. Although the one we went to most was the horseshoe hotel, it is left out of the estate gate and it has lunch and dinner menu, a food store which sold cheeses, meats, bread, coffees, cakes etc and they are also were very obliging. It had wondering chickens which was funny to watch. It is right near the stepping stones over the river Esk which is fun trying to cross over to the other side. Manor cottage is warm, has constant hot water if you need it, the beds were soft but a very comfortable soft and with no backaches which is great, we slept very well. There was a lovely welcome pack which was much appreciated. The cottage is very comfortable and homely, it also has games, puzzles if it is wet and you don’t want to go any where. There is lots of information in the draw to help if you need inspiration on where to go. But we visited most of the small villages on the coast roads & robin hoods bay, whitby is not very far. It was so nice to come back to the cottage after a day out we highly recommend it, it’s a lovely, peaceful place.

We have just returned from a week's holiday here. The Cottage was well presented, clean and full of charm. The kitchen was well equipped with everything you need. Only thing that would have made this perfect was a washing machine. The lounge was spacious and comfortable. Upstairs was much bigger than the photos showed and was very homely. As the owners were on holiday we were looked after by Sheila and Ian, both were amazing. Sheila was incredibly welcoming and could not do enough for us, nothing was too much trouble. Our daughter loved helping you feed the chickens. Ian always greeted us with a smile and too was very welcoming. They are both a real credit to the Estate. The grounds and surrounding area were stunning and incredibly peaceful. We thoroughly enjoyed the walk to Grosmont. The Stepping Stones in Egton are a must and the children wanted to go every evening there. We had a fantastic meal at the Estates pub, The Horseshoes, which was very tasty. All in all a wonderful stay and would love to return. Thank you.

Lovely, lovely place to stay. We enjoyed a relaxing weekend at the Manor Cottage. The cottage is full of character with plenty of modern comforts. We had all that we needed here. Very helpful unobtrusive owners (including polite children an friendly dogs!). The cottage was very clean, well equipped and everything worked. The location is really quiet but perfect for walking (straight from the doorstep) and for seeing the sights of the North Yorkshire Moors and coast. Good value given the uniqueness of the place. Thank you for having us!
