The market town of Glossop, with its transport links to Manchester and local towns is just 2 miles away. Other attractions further afield include Blue John Cavern (13.5 miles), Treak Cliff Cavern (15.5 miles) and Speedwell Cavern, a flooded underground cave system that can be explored by boat 15 miles away. Well worth a visit is Lyme Park and Hall, an estate owned by the National Trust where Pride and Prejudice was filmed in 1995. Peveril Castle, situated near Castleton and built in 1080 is also worth your time. Derwent Valley (15 miles), with its picturesque series of dams and reservoirs where the Dambusters trained, provides beautiful waterside walks. Step through the porch straight into the spacious lounge. There is ample comfortable seating and a large window providing beautiful views over the mature garden and surrounding countryside. The kitchen/diner offers all you need for a home away from home stay including a nearby dining table and handy pantry space which is perfect for storage. There is a separate spacious dining room with garden views to provide a great spot for a celebration dinner. Upstairs, the cottage offers two double bedrooms, one of which has charming views over the pond. The bathroom offers a shower. Head outside, where there is a bistro set provided for those lazy summer evenings when you want to dine alfresco just next to the cottage within the garden.
