Appleby-in-Westmorland is a historic town found in the middle of the North Pennines AONB, and the Lake District National Park, with the River Eden flowing through. The town was originally the county town of Westmorland, with Appleby situated between the two national parks within the Eden Valley, a fantastic spot for walkers and cyclists, and home to independent shops, restaurants, cafes, and a leisure centre. Historic attractions nearby include Boroughgate street, Norman Castle, Church of St. Lawrence, the Settle-Carlisle Railway, and Ribblehead viaduct. Appleby-In-Westmorland is a fantastic location to explore the Lake District.
