A quiet and restful holiday away from it all but with amenities close by.. The property was clean and comfortable as expected, the only minor problem was a small bathroom and wash basin which could make it difficult for a large person, however, there is no way the owner could get around this problem. A very enjoyable property and holiday, would stay there again.

Spent lovely few days at Treverbyn Smithy.. The cottage was full of character - it did not disappoint in terms of facilities. The owner lives next door and was very helpful with his local knowledge.

Perfect family accommodation for our holiday - The Smithy is rustic & charming, the beds super comfortable & location wise, perfect for exploring beautiful Cornwall! The host Mike is a wonderful & friendly man (along with Teddy the dog!) who went out of his way to ensure we had a great stay, tips for days out & places to eat etc. Having use of the games room was amazing, we loved playing pool & snooker in the evenings & on one particular rainy day! Would love to visit again!

We had a lovely holiday at Treverbyn Smithy, the cottage was cozy and warm, the owner was very nice and available.. We enjoyed the secludedness of the place, it's the perfect location when you want to stay away from crowded places and it's not too far from all the main attractions of the region.

Great area to stay to get away from the general business of life, Mike the owner was great in welcoming us & his local knowledge & recommending places to eat, there was an informative booklet in The Smithy as well, our nearest neighbour were spring lambs & primroses in the hedgerows.. The village of St Neot has a village shop, church with beautiful Medevial stained glass windows .The landlady at the London Inn welcomes us with local beverages & a roaring fire in these uncertain times, on our last day the Governent announced the shut down of pubs restaurants many were being entrepreneurial during this unprecedented time.

This is a lovely quirky cottage in a beautiful quiet setting.. The owner was really great friendly and helpful. We loved the log burner and the comfortable living room. The kitchen has everything you need. Be aware though this is a period converted building so it has character and history over modernness. WiFi is good, rush hour appears to be 2 cars and 4 horses! We really enjoyed it.

We have just had a lovely week at Treverbyn Smithy. Lovely cosy cottage, lovely area with stunning riverside, woodland and moorland walks. Friendly local pub the London inn that does great food, small local shop and spar near by too. Ideal spot for visiting towns and beaches on both sides of Cornwall. We visited padstow, perranporth, Newquay, Looe and Polperro all within an hours drive. Highly recommended :) Thanks Mike!

The location of this cosy cottage exceeds expectations, tranquil tucked away amoungst typical Cornish country lanes with only the sounds of nature, and lovely dog walks literally on your doorstep.. Pure countryside escapism from the moment you arrive and see the delightful Smithy. Once over the threshold the warm cosy atmosphere instantly delights.

Spent a great week at this fabulous cottage. Everything you need is supplied, towels, linen, cooking utensils, tv, wifi etc. We didn't use the log burner, but there are also portable heaters to keep off the chill. Nice walks around Bodmin moor and it was not too far to the local shops and main towns at driving distance. With four people and two lurchers there was still plenty of room as the living/dining area was spacious. The kitchen is very small, but it is fully equiped. The bathroom is small, but adequate for our needs. There is a tumble dryer and freezer around the back which was great as we needed ice blocks to keep our dog's insulin cool for the journey home. There is a games room and bbq/picnic area opposite, we didn't get to enjoy these, but they do make a splendid addition. It is dark at night so a torch is a must if you have dogs. Mike the owner was great for local knowledge for dog friendly beaches etc. Most shops and lots of cafes were dog friendly too. We would definitely come here again.

Treverbyn Smithy was exactly as described.. The hosts/owners are very friendly and approachable. Only had a short break there and the weather was atrocious and with log burner going full tilt "why venture out"? A very relaxing few days and if get chance again wouldn't hesitate to rebook and return.

We had a fabulous time at Treverbyn Smithy, just what we needed.. The cottage itself was super cosy and, although we didn't get to meet Mike, he was incredibly helpful having left us lots of information on notes with tips and recommendations too. The kitchen was well stocked with all utensils you could possibly need and Mike had got the woodburner prepared for us so all we needed to do was light it on arrival. It was ideally located in that it felt really out of the way but it was easy to access all kinds of walks and the nearby village of St Neot is a delight. Would recommend doing the Two Valleys Walk (as long as you are brave enough to walk through cow fields) and a walk up Rough Tor is not to be missed - it certainly blew the cobwebs off! Golitha Falls and Minions were also great. Our dog definitely enjoyed the vast amount of walks available! All in all we had a lovely time and would definitely recommend to anyone who'd listen!

Just returned from a fabulous week staying in this renovated old smithy. The cottage is well furnished and extremely clean, with plenty of space for 3 adults and a large lurcher. All basics provided, including fluffy towels and all kitchen utensils etc. The wood burner was great, definitely warms the place up well and makes it very cosy indeed. No phone signal but wifi is provided (if you want it that is). There is also an off road parking space and a lovely grassed area to sit if the weather is kind enough. Bathroom is small but does the job. Very pretty walks around the cottage which the dog very much enjoyed as well as us. Those hills are not for the faint hearted though! We particularly enjoyed the waterfalls. The location is excellent - perfectly located for exploring both north and south coasts. Definitely take a trip to Boscastle, Padstow and Fowey. Eden Project is also not far. Mike lives next door and is very helpful. He was an excellent host and we loved his dog Bob (even if our dog didn't like Bob much!). Very approachable - nothing was too much trouble. Thank you for a lovely stay.

This is a recently renovated old Smithy as the name suggests and is a lovely comfortable place to stop with parking. Its centrally located in this part of Cornwall tucked away in some picturesque countryside lanes with easy access to most areas. Not too far from Golitha falls and also Siblyback Lake which are both lovely dog walks. We went as a couple with our two dogs and found we had plenty of room. One bedroom is a double and the other one upstairs is a twin. There is a washing machine and access to a tumble dryer, fridge and cooker. Wi fi is not great and mobile reception is sparse but hey you're on holiday and sometimes thats a bonus if you want some peace and quiet? If you really need it theres plenty of cafes in the town for wi fi. Personally it didn't bother me at all. The log burner is great once you get back into your scouting skills to light it but again part of the fun and certainly kicks out some heat once its alight. One thing I don't think is mentioned on the booking site is that when it gets dark here it gets pitch black so you'll need to take a good torch with you for returning home late and getting in but also for if the electric meter runs out at night (bad planning on our part).! You literally cannot see your hand in front of your face. Mike the owner lives in the property next door and is a very easy and affable guy to deal with if you have any problems at all. He also has good info about local attractions / pubs / restaurants etc Value for money? Certainly.
