The garden boasts a generous gravelled terrace for alfresco dining and a ‘natural’ lawn, with fenced Engine House to complete the character! A short walk or drive away is the private fishing lake, fees apply. Wheal Grey makes an ideal retreat for family, friends and couples seeking a country escape close to the coast.

Area
The village of Praa Sands sits on the south coast in between Helston and Marazion. Praa Sands is known for its mile-long sandy beach and excellent surfing conditions. There is a bar/restaurant overlooking the beach – the perfect spot for lunch with a view or sunset drinks – a Post Office and general stores, a fish & chip shop, and a beach/surf shop stocked with everything you could need for a great day at the beach. Praa Sands is also home to a Golf and Country Club, from where the most wonderful sea vista can be enjoyed whilst you play. Just inland from the beach is Pengersick Castle, the tower of which dates back to the 16th century. It is said that Pengersick is haunted, and that the ghost of a monk has been seen wandering the grounds! The house at Pengersick is rumoured to be the birth place of the King of Prussia, John Carter, and a tunnel which leads from the house to the beach was apparently once used by smugglers.

What a lovely cottage.. Plenty of light and space and very comfortable. There's so much to do in a very short driving range. NT membership is very handy round here as well. Great coffee, roasted by Origin in Porthleven but available in many outlets! Park and walk into Porthleven save yourself any hassle parking. Love the wood fired pizza at the Deli there. Great sandy beaches and stunning coastal walks. ThiS part of Cornwall is one place to which, like a classic book, it is worth returning time and again.

Wow. What a wonderful spot Wheal Grey is.. I'd highly recommend you all visiting Wheal Grey. Central for our destinations in West Cornwall - St Ives, Lands End, Falmouth etc. So High-Spec - a delight. Close to Praa Sands for a sunny day, Penzance, Falmouth, The Lizard etc. Lazy evenings watching the sun go down, in the middle of a World Heritage Site - amazing!! The call of Buzzards overhead and with a family of rabbits close-by. A truly amazing place, with a Cornish Cream Tea awaiting us on arrival!!! Many thanks for everything and for preserving British heritage. Must come back sometime soon. Cheers!!!
