June 2022
Hi went here on the 18th June for a weeks holiday, first thing is it sits right next to the Mullion gallery, we found it after asking 3 different people, when we eventually got in , it was after 5pm, and raining , we had stopped in at asda in Falmouth to stock up on food / drink, I put the bags upstairs while my wife made us something to eat ,there are 3 bedrooms all had fresh towels, slippers and body wash and body lotion , because it was only me and my wife and our wee frenchie, we only used the double bedroom, so the other 2 rooms never got used, there were plenty of utensils, plates, etc, the dining room / kitchen is a large area, we spent 90% of our time in here when in the house, only ever went into the living room the night we arrived to watch a movie after a long days travelling from Scotland, we couldn’t stay in the living room to long as there was a smell of wet dog coming from the rug and the sofas, my wife bought disinfectant from asda and sprayed the whole living room and we shut the door and never really went back into it, we also put on the table lamp and noticed a dead spider stuck in the wire mesh base, so we took a photo and left it there . There’s a notice saying to empty the bin on your leaving day, but noticed the bin was already full , so I emailed Sykes cottages and the next day it was emptied, I went to make toast and noticed a Krupp coffee machine, but couldn’t use either as they were both filthy, toaster looks like it has never been cleaned and coffee machine was still full of old water from last guests. I took my wee dog a walk and when I came back noticed my wife standing on the dining room chairs, I asked what she was doing and she said cleaning the cobwebs and dust off the ceiling lights, then she done same all over upstairs to, she went to use the vacuum and noticed there were more hairs wrapped round the brushes than what you get in a wig factory, we emailed the company again and sent them some photos, not for any kind of money back, just to pass on to the owners, that their cleaning company isn’t doing a proper cleaning job, they said they would inform the owner, on the day you leave it says strip the beds and put the sheets into a black bag, when my wife done this , the mattress was stained , like someone had urinated in it , I sent more photos, when we arrived home a few days later I got an email from Sykes holidays saying , the owner and cleaning company said if I would have contacted them , they could have dealt with any problems and that I was not getting any compensation from them, well I never asked for any, just pointing out it needs more cleaning between guests , after all you are out from 9am on departure day and not allowed in until 5.30pm on arrival day, so that’s a long time to make sure it’s clean ,especially when we are paying £1400 for a week. The gardens was nice a wee sun trap , we never used the BBQ, washer/ drier a bonus, welcome pack was really good to. Basically all I’m saying is it needs a bit more TLC , as we treated it as our own house . And if I hired these cleaners, they wouldn’t be in a job long at these standards, would I go back I was going to, but after the last email making out I wanted compensation, now NO I will never go back or use Sykes holidays again , I was going to put on some photos, but it’s not allowing me to

This is a gorgeous holiday home packed full of everything you will need for your time away. From the thoughtful welcome package & flowers to the comfortable bed, 2 bathrooms and options in the house for a rainy day. Everything is well thought out & even more. We couldn’t fault the house at all and will definitely be returning.

Booked this months ago and have been looking forward to it for months! Got back home today and can say the house was great for our family - 2 adults and 2 kids under 7. Great location to Poldhu, Church Cove and Kennack Sands. Well equipped TV and satellite programs for when kids get bored! Under floor hearing in bathroom is great. Upstairs bathroom light comes on every time you Walk past which is annoying but apart from that great!
