Area
Callington is a Cornish market town, rich in mining heritage and overlooked by Kit Hill, the highest point in the area, donated to the people of Cornwall by Prince Charles to celebrate the birth of Prince William. From the top of Kit Hill there are fabulous views across south-east Cornwall as far as Plymouth Sound. Callington is set in the heart of the Tamar Valley, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and offers a good selection of shops, inns and cafes, as well as being the home of Ginsters Cornish pasties. A few miles away, the quaint village of Calstock clings to the steep banks of the river Tamar and is dominated by the splendid Calstock Railway Viaduct, a giant 11-arched stone construction supporting one of Britain’s most picturesque branch lines running through the Tamar Valley. Other interesting places along the river are Cotehele, a beautiful historic house and gardens owned by the National Trust with a small quay and inn, and Morwhellam Quay, a theme park that staged a living history production for the BBC and where visitors can explore the rich mining heritage and watch blacksmiths, potters and craftsmen at work. The pannier market town of Tavistock is only nine miles from Callington and is well worth a visit on your way to a day’s walk on Dartmoor. A splendid base to explore south Cornwall and West Devon.

Cornwall’s visitors are constantly tempted back to the beautiful coastline, tiny fishing villages, hidden coves and the world-class surfing. Whatever the reason, Cornwall has long cemented its place as one of Britain’s premier holiday destinations.

Really nice well equipped, clean lodge, managed by friendly, helpful people who kindly provided things like tourist information, dog bowls, dog towels, guest towels, every kitchen implement you could need, we will book again and have recommended this lodge to numerous friends. Be aware that barbeques are not permitted at this lodge park, for insurance reasons, which is understandable, as the outdoor decks and balconies are all wooden.

I cannot compliment on this accommodation enough, another fantastic short break. What a surprise we had when we turned up and saw all the improvements they had made. Lovely wall built around the front garden, freshly decorated throughout. Nicely equipped kitchen, and the furniture in the living room is so comfortable, lovely to come back after spending the day exploring the local area. The hosts are only a phone call away if needed, although never needed them. The onsite facilities are also very good. If you are looking for somewhere to relax and unwind this is the place for you. Excellent place for a base so you can visit some beautiful places only a short drive away.

We have stayed here before and was really happy with the accommodation, this visit was even better, new carpets and flooring throughout. We love coming here and the villa is very close to all the site amenities. Very clean comfortable accommodation, good 4g mobile signal in living room and balcony. It is good to get away from the stresses of city life and relax. Can't wait until the next visit.

A lovely little home which was very clean. It made me feel safe to stay there after lockdown. Good access to local Cornish areas. Swimming pool on a timetable but we got the whole pool to ourselves for 45mins. Thank you for such a great place to stay.

Hi we had a lovely Christmas break. Property was very well equipped and spotlessly clean. The owners had put extra Christmas touches for us including a Christmas tree and minced pies. Gym, pool and games room great for a couple of hours entertainment for the teenagers with us. Just a little disappointed that we were told by the site that they were open boxing day and they weren't nor was there any heating in the games room. The bar and restaurant were a few seconds walk. Fantastic service, good food and Christmas Eve a singer for the evening entertainment. A big bonus to us was getting an email from the property owner to say we could collect keys at 12 and not 4. This meant we were unpacked and kids in the pool by 12.30, giving us a whole extra afternoon.

Location excellent easy to find, key was left in safe place. Accommodation was very good, very clean throughout. Two bathrooms one could be locked and used as onsuit. Comfortable beds and a good night's sleep was had by all. Fully equipped kitchen, living area is spacious with two comfortable safas and a full size dinning table. Good size veranda. Close to swimming pool, reception and club house. Very quiet and relaxing nice to get away and just switch off. 4G mobile reception is quite good. Tranquil part of Cornwall, Nice to get away from hussle/bussle of town but not so far if you wanted a trip out, Devon only 10mins away. We will definitely stay here again, host was very helpful

Apart from the poor quality of the shower, everything was excellent.. Location is excellent and we were very comfortable. I would not recommend the chalet for anyone with balance problems or poor mobility as the path to the lodge would be difficult to negotiate

Really lovely cottage and very well kitted out, brilliant location with lots to do with small children.. The only thing I would like to recommend would be a stairgate at the top of the stairs as they open into the living space upstairs (it could be fastened back against the wall when not needed) as we have a small crawling baby who had to be watched constantly because of the open stairs and we ended up wedging a chair across the top! Otherwise we had a lovely time, thank you.
