Love the area but the property is very small and not easy to access to load and unload.. This was stated in the listing.
Mr Conlon
November 2018
Lovely cottage in the heart of the lower bay.. Cottage was cosy and clean with all the facilities required. It had two bedrooms but living room space would be restricted with four people sharing, overall we had a fantastic break.

Fantastic location the village feels as though you have gone back in time and is fantastic to explore.. The pubs and eateries are fantastic and I would recommend the lower chip shop near the beach.

Robin Hoods Bay is a unique experience, the cottages in the Bay are all very different, combining to provide this amazing steep hillside village leading down to the sea shore.. Delft cottage is well located, well presented and very comfortable, when booking cottages in the Bay you must consider that most were built around four hundred years ago. In the main they are not large properties with high ceilings, if that doesn't bother you then the Bay holiday may be just right for you. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, and will return next year, the good news for dog owners is that the bulk of cafes, pubs and tourist locations allow access with dogs. The open fire in the Laurel pub is most welcoming on a cold snowy evening!

November 2017
A lovely cosy cottage with character very tastefully decorated and with all you need for a comfortable stay.. However you do need to be aware that you cannot park near the property and even parking to unload could be difficult. However we felt that the location within the lower village more than compensated and you were transport back in time.

I think the inclusion of a car park permit would make this a perfect holiday cottage..

We knew there was no parking outside Delft cottage but we didn't realise what a nightmare it would be trying to stop nearby and unload/load our luggage (as suggested on the Sykes website). We drove to the location and stopped as near as possible to the entrance, where I dropped our luggage off by the pavement whilst my husband stayed in the car, but there was so much aggravation from other drivers and unpleasant expletives directed towards us we didn't feel we had time to climb the rather numerous steps up to the cottage entrance and come down again. After what seemed to be a constant flow of angry drivers, we agreed this scenario would keep repeating itself for the whole weekend so we made our escape and headed towards home from a situation which felt far too stressful to be a relaxing weekend. No sympathy from Sykes Cottages or the owner.

A lovely cottage, compact and comfortable. The cottage was well appointed and very clean, it was a short walk to the beach. I didn't take my dog on this occasion, but it's good that dogs are permitted there. I spent the weekend with two friends who loved the place!

I have been to this town before, and know what it is like so expected small lodgings. It was quite tiny, and my six foot plus partner struggled a little with cramped size. Most things were as expected eg:cleanliness. I was really disappointed there were no tea bags or dish washing detergent. This place is quite remote, and not knowing the area well, after a long drive did not want to go shopping. I am currently touring UK and staying in over 50 properties and this was first one without coffee/tea on arrival. I realise self catering means i need to provide for rest of the stay. The previous tenant must have thought the same as the frypan needed scrubbing before I could use it. I don't think it is a child friendly house or could really cope with 4 people due to the size.
