We knew there was no parking outside Delft cottage but we didn't realise what a nightmare it would be trying to stop nearby and unload/load our luggage (as suggested on the Sykes website). We drove to the location and stopped as near as possible to the entrance, where I dropped our luggage off by the pavement whilst my husband stayed in the car, but there was so much aggravation from other drivers and unpleasant expletives directed towards us we didn't feel we had time to climb the rather numerous steps up to the cottage entrance and come down again. After what seemed to be a constant flow of angry drivers, we agreed this scenario would keep repeating itself for the whole weekend so we made our escape and headed towards home from a situation which felt far too stressful to be a relaxing weekend. No sympathy from Sykes Cottages or the owner.

A lovely cottage, compact and comfortable. The cottage was well appointed and very clean, it was a short walk to the beach. I didn't take my dog on this occasion, but it's good that dogs are permitted there. I spent the weekend with two friends who loved the place!

I have been to this town before, and know what it is like so expected small lodgings. It was quite tiny, and my six foot plus partner struggled a little with cramped size. Most things were as expected eg:cleanliness. I was really disappointed there were no tea bags or dish washing detergent. This place is quite remote, and not knowing the area well, after a long drive did not want to go shopping. I am currently touring UK and staying in over 50 properties and this was first one without coffee/tea on arrival. I realise self catering means i need to provide for rest of the stay. The previous tenant must have thought the same as the frypan needed scrubbing before I could use it. I don't think it is a child friendly house or could really cope with 4 people due to the size.
