What absolutely beautiful cottage. Other, much older, reviews commented on it being a bit tired looking well that was not our experience and it looks from the pictures on many sites to what it looks like in person they have updated it throughout. Much more special than the pictures can show. It is in such a lovely setting with walks straight from the cottage. Plus a very central base to travel for other days out across North Wales. The cottage felt so cosy with the wood burner roaring. The beds were very, very comfortable. Had such a fantastic stay with the children that we will definitely come again. Highly recommend

The cottage could be so much better with just a bit more attention to detail and cleanliness.. Not really big enough for four adults and two dogs. Great location and so nearly there. Must be prepared to live close to the wildlife. Especially the spiders and the mouse. Keep food well protected, but on the plus side we were not bothered by the flies you usually get in remote locations.

I had read a previous report on this property which complained of uncleanliness.. I discounted this as some people can get very fussy about this (I am not one of them). However, this was also our experience. In particular, the large rug in the sitting area had not been hoovered and was filthy, the kitchen sink and bath were not clean, I didn't want to use the frying pan and oven trays because of their condition and the kitchen table had not been wiped down which, given the current C-19 situation, is frankly unacceptable. Separately, the kitchen was not well equipped which is unusual for a Sykes property. In particular, there was only one frying pan (discinclined to use), a sieve that was too small for a larger group (and had a hole in it) and no salad bowl.

The cottage was very well equipped.. I had to use the door step to sharpen the kitchen knives. It would have been nice to have a window in the sitting room. These are minor details. The seating was very comfortable. The bed was very comfortable. Thanks for the milk, tea and sugar. I would highly recommen this cottage to stay in, wonderful!

Cottage was lovely its the second time we have visited.. Its a really good base for visiting the area but in a quiet position. I would especially like to thank the owners for leaving lights and heaters on in the main living area so that it wasnt pitch black and cold when we arrived.

Bythyn Ddol Hafod is in an excellent, quiet and convenient location for exploring Snowdonia. It is also a good size accommodation, with a pleasant garden and great views. Lots of private parking space

Loved the seclusion remoteness of the cottage, real peace quiet. Beautiful scenery, surroundings, and secure garden area for the dog. Getting snug warm with the wood burner was nice too.

The cottage was cosy, warm and peaceful. We were made to feel very welcome. The location of the cottage was perfect for our hill-walking holiday and the internet access helped us to plan our activities around the weather! Overall, a fantastic place to stay. We will be recommending to friends and family, and hope to return soon!

The cottage is perfect if you want a very quiet holiday. My dogs loved exploring the garden which is very big and secure. Will be visiting again in the future.
