Area Skipton, dubbed "The Gateway to the Dales," is ideally situated for exploring all that the Dales has to offer, as well as York, the Lake District, and the West Coast. This charming market town has enough to offer the passionate visitor, including an open-to-the-public castle, a wonderful mediaeval parish church, and a vibrant market occupying the cobblestone setts on either side of the high street. Skipton was rated Britain's "greatest place to live" in 2014, and among the nine best towns in Yorkshire and the North-East two years later by The Sunday Times. The Leeds to Liverpool Canal goes through Skipton, with the 1 mile long Foulridge Tunnel and the 5-rise locks at Bingley within a short distance, and steam railways with frequent excursions are available at Embsay and Bolton Abbey. Golf, swimming, squash, tennis, and snooker are all accessible in the area, and the superb public transportation allows you to leave your car at home!
Region From heather-clad moors and limestone scars, to market towns and the steady pace of country life - the sublime Dales await you! Where else in Britain is it as satisfying to sit and do nothing as it is to explore the numerous pursuits on offer?

Lovely place, clean and well presented but if you’re going on a Friday/Saturday night with young kids and or pets there’s a nightclub about 5 doors down that doesn’t stop until 1am and people shouting and leaving until half past.
Perfect for couples however if you leave in the day time you may lose parking as it’s very close to the centre and shoppers use the street instead of paying and displaying.

A gem of a cottage. Spotlessly clean and decorated to a high standard.
A spacious cottage with a lovely seating area outside to relax .
The bed was super comfortable also the pillows were perfect.
Although there was no off road parking we managed to get a parking spot outside the cottage. It is On a steep hill but not far from the bottom to walk up.
The cottage is virtually in the centre of town just up from the bus station.
We had a very enjoyable stay.
