Area Devon's Blackdown Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is home to the picturesque village of Churchinford. This friendly village has a great location for hikers and cyclists, as it is only nine and a half miles from Taunton, the main city in the neighbouring county. In addition to a post office, a general store, a pub, and the Churchinford Community Hall, the village also has a few more amenities. An enjoyable day may be had by visiting Otterhead Lakes, a well-maintained nature reserve that provides a safe haven for the local flora and fauna; visitors can enjoy leisurely strolls through the preserve while taking in the picturesque vistas of the lake. Taunton is a great place to take the family because it has much to do for people of all ages. There are many parks, a riverwalk along the Tone, and great restaurants and bars.
Region Somerset offers 3 Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty - the Quantock, Mendip and Blackdown Hills. Lose yourself in the glory of nature, take a ride on a steam train, visit a traditional farmers’ market or explore your mystical side at Glastonbury.
