DescriptionHoliday home This Longhorsley cottage is part of a delightful, converted, stone-built, former schoolhouse adjoining the owner's home in the pretty village, ideally situated in the heart of the Northumberland countryside, just 14 miles south of Alnwick and 5 miles north of Morpeth. It has a twin bedroom, an en-suite shower room and the living accommodation is all open plan with a kitchen, dining area, a sitting area and a two double sofa beds. Outside there is off road parking, lockable bike storage and shared use of the owners' rear lawned garden with furniture, a barbecue and a Koi fish pond (with safety grill over). Area Longhorsley is a pretty, rural village in the heart of rural Northumberland, between the Cheviots and the coast and provides great access to a range of great walks and cycle routes. The village offers several pubs serving good food and a local store.
Region Northumberland is a heady combination of fishing villages, market towns, sandy beaches, magnificent castles and historic Hadrian's Wall, tied together by beautiful countryside and abundant wildlife.

The area is so peaceful and the people friendly.. We didn't eat out at all this time due to Covid 19, the facilities in the cottage enabled us to cook everything we needed. Home from Home. xx

This is a small but well equipped cottage.. We stayed with our two children. The owners are brilliantly helpful and think of everything. The location is a beautiful village with a wonderful local shop and pub. Also a great playing field and playground for youngsters - although the playground was closed due to Covid. We made the most of being between mountains in the national park and the beautiful coast. A great stay

Longhorsley is a great central location for seeing Northumberland being only 20 mins from Morpeth, Alnwick and Rothbury.. The Old School Room is small(ish) but perfectly formed and well run by Clare and Scott. Wholly recommended.

The village is wonderfully convenient for visiting all the lovely attractions of this part of Northumberland and the owners of The Old Schoolroom were very helpful.. We and our two dogs had a very happy and relaxing holiday!

The owners were extremely friendly and helpful.. They were generous in their attitude - for example, the lovely welcome pack (even treats for the dogs) and inviting us to use their garden, especially when they were away for a few days. We felt very much at ease.
