Situated a ten minute drive from Northumberland National Park, The Mistal is in a fantastic location for exploring this area.

Area The small, pretty Northumberland village of Glanton is situated in the foothills of the Cheviots and surrounded by glorious countryside. The village has a shop and a pub, whilst a wide range of amenities, shops etc. are available in the nearby county town of Alnwick. The village makes an ideal base for exploring the Northumberland National Park, Alnwick with its imposing castle (known to millions as Hogwarts School in Harry Potter!) and the impressive castle gardens.
Region Northumberland is a heady combination of fishing villages, market towns, sandy beaches, magnificent castles and historic Hadrian’s Wall, tied together by beautiful countryside and abundant wildlife.

The Mistal is so well equipped, the owners have thought of everything to make the stay very comfortable and homely.. The village and surrounding countryside are beautiful and everyone we met was very friendly. We have family in Alnwick and The Mistal is a perfect base for us (and our 3 dogs) to stay, as we can visit them or they can visit us.

A fantastic spot for touring the NE countryside and coast which is stunning.. The cottage was spotless and was a real “home from home” with everything one could need. If it had it’s own garden it would be truly perfect. Lovely touches on arrival- biscuits for adults, dog treats, milk and a vase of flowers. All arrival instructions were clear and everything ran smoothly.

Good cottage, well furnished, very clean and the kitchen was very well equipped.. The fridge has a slightly strange configuration which means that it seems quite small. There was a very useful information file.
The village is very quiet and well placed for coast or moors.
Nice to find somewhere so nice that takes three dogs.
The only thing the cottage lacks is private outside space.

Excellent location for all areas of Northumberland including the coast and the National Park.. Good for dog owners, walks straight from the Mistral. Plenty of room for four adults (and two dogs) it served our purpose extremely well especially as we were away for the festive period. We all commented on what a fantastic time we had had.
