With the Heritage Coast with its castles and golden sandy beaches an easy drive away Lime Tree Lodge is an ideal base for exploring Northumberland.

Swarland is a village between Morpeth and Alnwick, with a shop and post office. Swarland is close to the castle and garden at Alnwick, and is within easy reach of NT Cragside and Rothbury inland, or the castles and beaches of the Heritage coastline.
