Conveniently located near a variety of attractions, the surrounding area ensures that visitors make the most of their time in both the rural and coastal areas of this stunning region of Yorkshire. There's something for everyone in this area, from the Blue Flag beaches to the neighbouring North York Moors. Whitby's beautiful ambience is just one of its many appealing features; the town's winding alleyways and hidden alleys are home to several restaurants and stores. Visit the scenic harbour and lighthouse to take in the sunset, or go whale watching or on a coastal cruise to get up up and personal with these majestic creatures. Ascend the 199 steps to Whitby Abbey or check out the Captain Cook Memorial Museum, which features a historical and anthropological exhibition dedicated to Cook. Whitby, situated as it is between Robin Hood's Bay and the bustling cities of Scarborough and Middlesbrough, is a great base from which to discover all the beauties that Yorkshire has to offer.
