Area Whitby is a charming coastal town in North Yorkshire that is teeming with history and natural beauty. The focal point of the town is Whitby Abbey, a ruined monastery that overlooks the harbor. The 199 Steps lead down from the abbey to the harbor, and are a popular attraction in their own right. Whitby Museum is also worth a visit, as it contains a wealth of information about the town's history. There are also plenty of opportunities for outdoor recreation in Whitby, such as hiking and fishing, and the town's location makes it a great base for exploring the surrounding area.
