Lowerdale Barns East is a barn converted bungalow situated in the village of Sleight in North Yorkshire. It has a king size bedroom with an en-suite shower room, it can sleep two people. Also inside there is an open plan living area with a kitchen, dining area and a sitting area. To the outside there is off road parking for one car, a patio with furniture and a shared lawn. Lowdale Barns East is a superb cottage in a beautiful rural location.

Area
Sleights is ideal for a holiday. 4 miles from the Yorkshire coastline, it is on the edge of the moors with attractive villages and scenery. Sleights boasts a pub, a fish and chip shop, an antique shop with a café, a butcher's, a bakery, a hairdressers and a shop with a Post Office. The North Yorkshire Steam Railway is a short drive away. Whitby lies at the River Esk and is situated for exploring this part of Yorkshire. It is a town of winding streets and hidden alleys, with a harbour, sandy beaches and the abbey, reached by the famous 199 steps.

Region
The North York Moors National Park covers 554 square miles, with landscape ranging from heather-clad moorland and deep secluded dales, to the cliffs and coves of the magnificent coastline making it a haven for walkers.

We were looking for somewhere we could stay for a week with our dog in order to avoid the World Cycling Championships (apologies to any cycling fans who may read this!). We liked the look of Lowdale Barns East and we were certainly not disappointed. The accommodation has been designed with an immaculate eye for detail and is furnished to a very high standard. It is a perfect rural retreat for two in close proximity to Whitby and many other seaside towns and villages. After days at the beach with our dog we were able to enjoy the evening sunshine and just chill. We live on a busy main road and the serenity and tranquility of the location of Lowdale Barns East was, for us, just perfect. I would highly recommend this accommodation if you are looking for somewhere to stay which is very comfortable and close to all that the North East coast has to offer.

The barn was exactly as advertised.. It was very clean and had great facilities. The WiFi was excellent. The hosts were very friendly. We had one small problem with the shower and Rachel responded very promptly. I would thoroughly recommend the property. It was an excellent base for walking straight from the barn and also only a 10 minute drive to Whitby. Also the local train station at Sleights was only 10 minutes walk away. The local butchers and bakers were excellent and not forgetting the fantastic fish and chip shop! We know when we have had a good holiday when we are sad to leave !!

Had the most wonderful week at Lowdale Barns East.. The cottage was first class,lovely,cosy and comfortable.The milk and the biscuits were a nice touch and very much appreciated.Would highly recommend and nothing was too much trouble for Rachel.

Superb cottage in a quiet location. We had a great week here using the place as a base to tour around the locality. We visited Whitby, Scarborough, Robin Hoods Bay, Goathland, Staithes to name a few. All were great places in their own right! The cottage itself was very very nice and clean, the owner didn't bother us at all but was there if we needed anything. Would recommend.

We absolutely loved Lowdale Barns.. The accommodation was very clean, bed comfortable and the kitchen well equipped for a self catering holiday. We appreciated the little extras, foil, kitchen roll, cling film, dishwasher tablets etc and milk and biscuits on arrival are always welcome! We were a bit concerned that being a barn conversion we might feel cold - we needn't have worried the underfloor heating worked perfectly and we were always toasty and warm. Would not hesitate to recommend.

We had an excellent holiday.. The cottage was very clean and well equipped. It is very close to lots of interesting places to visit. The only thing that we could have been warned about was the public footpath that runs directly at the back of the cottage. I opened the blinds in my nightdress the first morning to be confronted by people walking their dogs. Not a problem once we knew but bit of warning would have saved any embarrassment!

It's a lovely peaceful location, owners are very nice and welcoming, with everything you need in the village of Sleights.. Plenty of walks from the door, will definitely book this cottage again.

Warm, comfortable and clean Lowdale Barn is in a good position for touring the North Yorkshire coast.. It is dog friendly with some good local walks for exercising your dog. It is well equipped and the conversion has been carried out tastefully and sympathetically. It is in a quiet and peaceful position and our time there was very relaxing. Be aware that the private drive leading to the barn is heavily pot holed so drive very slowly.

The welcome we received was great this was our first experience of renting a cottage and we would recommend it to everyone.. Peaceful beautiful surroundings near the river Esk. Outdoor as well as indoor space. The Barns are extremely clean and well presented for us it felt like home from home. Great base to explore from.

Lovely place to stay.. My wife and I and our golden retriever lewie had a great time. I would highly recommend. The barn has been finished to a very high spec. Had a few issues with the hot water with shower running cold sometimes. But when it was working the shower was great. Overall i wouldn't think twice about visiting again. :)
