Its charming buildings and cottages are grouped around the historic harbour, which is flanked on three sides by high jagged cliffs, with a secluded sandy beach nestled among the rocky shoreline. The Cleveland Way, which descends down the cliff to the sea's edge, offers the greatest views of the town.
