Settle is a thriving market town on the outskirts of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, set against the UK's greatest outcrop of limestone and some of North Yorkshire's most attractive landscape. Tuesday is market day in Settle, with vendors selling a wide range of crafts and items in the square. The Shambles, an old three-story building with stores on two floors and houses above, and the Town Hall dominate the market area, which is bordered by local businesses. There are a number of restaurants and pubs, as well as a public pool.
