This spotless new-build cottage is in the village of Skinningrove, with the Mining Museum a 3 minute walk away, and the beach a leisurely 10 minute stroll down the road. A lot of thought has gone into the decor and the furnishings, and the comfort of the guests, and it shows. The 32" Freeview TV, the high-backed dining chairs, and the washer/dryer in the kitchen tell you that your hosts Geoff & Val have thought of those little things that make your stay so enjoyable. And the "Welcome Pack"? Deliciously thoughtful!
This corner of North Yorkshire is a visitor's delight, from the incredible beach at Saltburn-by-the-Sea, to Rievaulx Abbey and Helmsley, to the wonderful Ryedale Folk Museum in Hutton-le-Hole, and the lovely welcoming town of Guisborough.
The weather was incredibly kind to us (a high of 27"), and an after-dinner drink sitting outside the cottage watching the sun go down, was the perfect topping to some great days.
Geoff & Val, along with Kelly & Steve, and Joanna, made us feel so welcome and at home, we felt almost like part of the family. Many, many thanks to all of them.
Any downside? Only one. The cottage was booked the week before and the week after our visit, and sadly we had to return home after only 7 nights!
